We had an absolutely lovely stay at Ancas beautiful quaint home. The location was perfect. Walking distance to Queen street. Quiet neighborhood in a central location. The home was exactly what we wanted - a cozy home for the 4 of us. We had a perfect living arrangement even with a living room and kitchen to ourselves. The breakfast … I must rave about. It was absolutely delicious. Homemade with absolute love from Anca herself. Soooo yummy. Would highly recommend this stay.
This is the 3rd consecutive year that we book at this same bed and breakfast. Anca, the owner, is a wonderful cook and such a pleasant person. We are already planning to go back next year and will probably tag on another day as we've been doing year after year. It's like being home! I've travelled the world and keep on going back to this place. It's just so peaceful and well located close to downtown NOL. Love it!
The bed-and-breakfast was very spacious. The first floor accommodations were perfect for two couples. Well-made tasty generous breakfast every morning. Short walk to downtown. The host was a delight. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary. She surprised us with nice chocolates in fresh cut flowers. Her gardens are perfect.
I first stayed at Anca’s back in 2011 for a girls wine weekend. 8 ladies across both suites and we loved it! This time we came to celebrate my mom’s big bday and brought my husband and little one. Off street parking, walking distance to restaurants and old town. Short drive to any and all wineries. The suites themselves are clean and comfy! An awesome location to serve as home base and hang your hat for the night. The flowers all around the house are gorgeous and smell glorious! And the breakfast are on point! Two words…eggs Benedict! Her omelets, croissants and muffins are amazing too. All meals were paired with a side that featured fresh, local Niagara produce. Anca is the best hostess you could ask for. Friendly and warm, and always available to help you as much or as little as you’d like. She is the icing on the cake! Highly recommend staying with her. Kid friendly tipper: the splash pad in Virgil she recommended was the bomb on the hot summer day for my little! It is right next to a playground and skate park and has a pavilion with bathrooms.…
Spaceous and comfortable. Wonderful morning breakfasts! Easy access by car and parking. WE would try the main floor suite next time: the stairs to the second floor are a bit steep. Anca our host was marvelous and helpful! DEFINITELY a "home away from home" WE would return to !
We had never been to NIagra on the Lake and hadn’t a clue where to stay. After doing some research, we decided on a Bed and Breakfast place and then the Williams Gate house after reading the reviews and checking out the distance to the town. We had many questions answered before we came, explicit details when we arrived and all was in wonderful order. We stayed in the two bedroom unit with our daughter and it was perfect. Clean, roomie, quiet, lots of ideas and suggestions for things o do, and delicious breakfasts. Anca, the owner, is an amazing cook - the breakfasts were large, filling, made with local products (delicious fresh fruit and produce from the area) and so tasty. You fill out a form about your food needs (e.g. we don’t eat meat) and each morning, a wonderful meal. The place is just a few blocks from the center of town. Bike rentals are three blocks away, the Bernard Shaw Festival locations within a mile (we went to a great play at the large theatre at the end of the village and it was less than a mile walk - which was delightful). We are so glad we chose the Willams Gate house. Our hostess and the home made for a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable getaway.…
It was great to be back at the Shaw Festival, and Anca made it all the more special sharing her lovely home and fabulous breakfasts! We would not hesitate to stay here again! The home is within easy walking distance of theaters, shopping and restaurants. We loved having the first floor suite with the separate bedrooms, living room and kitchen. It is very spacious, comfortable and private, and we enjoyed being able to lounge in the living room and watch a movie on some of the extremely hot July days. All possible details have been covered. The breakfasts were extremely tasty and delivered to our kitchen table each morning. We are already looking forward to next year!
The host has thought of everything to make a memorable stay, from the very comfortable beds, delicious breakfast and even robes and slippers. Location is walkable to shopping and shows but very quiet and peaceful. Recommendations for meals and wineries were spot on!
A nice slice of Niagara on the Lake. A quiet setting, with Beautiful gardens and close to town. Anca was the perfect hostess. Breakfast was delish and served to our room.
