This hostel is well located in downtown Ottawa. Much like a home away from home the living space is large and inviting to compensate for the cozy rooms. All amenities are provided to make your stay easy and relaxing. Warm, clean and well decorated. Coffee provided. Cooking by microwave only.

Nice and comfortable hostel with a modern common area. Highly recommend! Close to a supermarket, Starbucks, Dollorama and Tim Hortons. You can do everything by walking. Near to by market which is an important pub and restaurants area.

I was in Ottawa for a conference, and I'm really glad I chose to stay at the Barefoot Hostel. The receptionist (check-in at hotel next door) was very friendly, and super helpful with all questions I had about my time in Ottawa. She couldn't have been a better representative. The hostel is spotless, and huge. It's a renovated historic home,...

Barefoot Hostel turned out to be an excellent choice :) It is an all-girls female hostel with dorm beds. My bed has a big soft duvet which was just perfect. The hostel is pretty quiet at night, and I certainly felt that the environment was calm and quiet despite being conveniently located downtown. The hostel was very clean and well...

This small hostel is in an excellent location for exploring Ottawa's main attractions. You can walk to most of the main things, or use a bike or buses to reach the further places. It has four mixed gender bedrooms upstairs with four bunks each. The beds are fairly narrow but comfortable, with big cozy comforters and pillows. It is very...

I am very glad that I could get a bed at this hostel when the other hostels were already full for Canada Day. The hostel is located inside a converted house and it has a cozy atmosphere and it's usually quiet during most of the day. The bunk beds are very comfortable with a super warm and comforting duvet. I...

I've stayed at Barefoot twice now during cross-country trips. The facilities feel like staying in a fastidiously clean relative's house -- great kitchen and comfortable living area and incredibly clean and comfortable bedrooms. I left my camera at the hostel and the staff held it for a couple weeks and helped box it up and get it shipped back to...

Barefoot is a smaller scale hostel, it seems to be a converted house so can inhabit less guests than most. This translates to a familiarity amongst guests and a friendly atmosphere, where it is not uncommon for guests to grab a drink together or all watch a movie. The bathrooms are very up to date but with only 2 showers...
