Stayed here for one night after staying for a night in the HI-Jail Hostel in a four bed room. Very clean, close to the market. This Hostel is so comfy it feels like home! There is a small kitchen area that has a microwave/coffee/tea but no oven or cooking facilities so don't expect to cook here (although we managed with...

Great little place that is close to everything. Walk to Rideau Centre, Old Town, Transitway station in a few minutes. Parliament Hill is just another few minutes away. This is not the usual big hostel: 4 rooms with 16 beds in total. It wasn't full during Easter weekend when I stayed, so it was more like sharing a house with...

We stayed here for 1 night in October 2014 in a 4 bed dorm. It was really clean with a great shared bathroom - like a bathroom at home, not like a hostel bathroom. Amazing and clean shower. The highlight was the linens - the best duvet ever! We didn't use any communal facilities but from memory there wasn't much...

Stayed for two nights, wish it could have been longer. As other reviewers have said feels much more like a home share than a hostel, which if like me you have been staying in hostels for any length of time then Barefoot is a much welcome break. Clean, comfy beds, fairly spacious rooms, incredible shower, really good location, decent kitchen...

Barefoot is probably one of the cleanest hostels I've been to in a long time. Super cute little hostel, that is close to Byward Market. The bed was actually pretty comfy and it's not too crowded in each room. There are only 4 rooms with 2 bunk beds in each. Definitely feels very cozy and homey in there. I would...

I stayed here for 3 nights and really liked it. As one of the previous reviewers said it really does feel like you're in a share house as you checkin at the hostel next door. The hostel was clean and had good facilities including free computers to use and high speed wifi. Would definitely stay here again next time I...

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel. It is located a walking distance from the center of Rideau, close to the US Consulate as well. The hostel is really clean, renovated with pretty small rooms of two bunk beds, two showers (one upstairs and one downstairs), a kitchen, living room (with TV and 2 PCs) and a couple of sofas....

I've stayed in quite a few hostels and nowhere compares to this place. It is really beautiful! It feels like you're staying in a personal home that has been well taken care of. The shower alone is worth the stay. It has TV and internet downstairs, living room and kitchen as well. Dorms are really small but very comfy. You...

My friend and I have been travelling through America and Canada for 3 weeks now & this is easily the best hostel in which we have stayed. It is in a great location, is managed by extremely friendly & personable staff and the facilities are remarkable for that of a hostel. The common areas remind me of home with a...
