A typical motel. Nice staff that were extremely accommodating and remaining open late after their opening hours to accommodate me. It was a little stop for me due to working back to back shifts and a terrible snow storm, it was nearly impossible to get home, so I decided to crush there. A very old property however kept clean. Don't expect a hotel quality, it is a motel but it isn't terrible. It is well worth the price you are paying if you need a place to crush. Rooms are clean, even though worn out, and are equipped with all necessities.
This motel was listed as pet friendly on Expedia and Trivago. When I arrived after a 7 hour drive the extremely unpleasant and rude owner told me they are not pet friendly and it’s not his problem that it is listed as such. Place is so run down it looks like a motel that rents by the hour.
My friend and I had visited Ottawa for a weekend to take in their Carivibe festivities. It was nicely located to the events we were attending. The motel is old but appears to be maintained. It’s not a fancy hotel, but it served our needs. The sheets are thin and worn as are the towels, but they are clean. Check in was a breeze and they even waited up since we were arriving late. The only issue we had was on our second night we discovered that the bathroom window and the window by the door doesn’t close properly nor does it lock. It was a little unsettling to sleep our last night.
I had booked a room here and it looked really nice on the internet and was supposed to be non smoking. When I got to the motel, which was in an outlying area, the building looked like an old shed. There were wooden planks on the ground with water dripping on them. it looked horrible. I asked the guy at the front desk to show me the room and it stunk of cigarette smoke and looked kind of run down. I decided to leave. It was difficult to find another place later so this motel ruined my day with their false advertising of the rooms
My review on this motel My girlfriend and i have been renting from this motel for a long time now And we are always happy with the cleanliness... friendly staff We got an extra surprise ...on Valentines day we rented a room and to our surprise the staff had decorated for ventines day We complimented the staff on how just that touch of care was put in Thanks again to all the staff at Beacon Hill Motel Well see you sonn 😊
The Beacon Hill Motel in the Gloucester area of Ottawa is conveniently located. Unfortunately, the accommodations are extremely tired, clean but not outfitted for today's savvy traveler. The advertised "breakfast" included in our rate was not available - the restaurant suffered fire damage months ago, and the owner's struggling to get it replaced. Bottomline: take it for what it is... affordable, convenient, traditional drive-up motel for an overnight stay.
I would leave 2 1/2 stars if I could. Motel is older and not updated. Was clean and bed was comfortable though. No carafe with coffee maker. Had small refrigerator and microwave, which was nice. The TV was old tube style. Close enough to Ottawa attractions to do a quick drive.
It's not the Ritz by any means but the rooms are clean and quiet. The guy at the front desk was most helpful with our needs. For the price, as a place to stay in Ottawa, one can't do much better. Also, turn left onto Montreal Road, keep going straight and you get right to downtown Ottawa with direct access to all sorts of touristy places.
