Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. Nice rooms. Free parking. Walking distance to the LRT which will get you downtown or to the train station. Gee, the front desk manager will solve any issue and always make sure you are getting what you need.
Stayed here for a night. The hotel is clean and located conveniently near to the St.Laurent bus station & mall. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff were nice & accommodating
Nice enough place and friendly staff, BUT, My wife's computer got hacked via their unprotected WIFI, in spite of the provider saying "it's no problem, we have the BEST internet security. Just log back in" and every time we did the hacker's profile reappeared. Yes, she has expensive, up to date anti-hack/anti-malware/antivirus software. And after promising to call back IHGs internet provider never did. Also, don't ask the desk staff to recommend a local restaurant or diner for brunch...you can Google it for yourself. Restaurant staff and food was great!
I’m disappointed with our stay. We checked in got settled things looked okay at first but then my 3 year old found a pill by the fridge. I was lucky to have caught her in time from swallowing it, googled the brand of the pill and this could’ve been bad for her. I called down they were apologetic but really nothing further was done. At night the room got so hot and could t adjust the thermostat to cool the room. There was a hockey tournament which is beyond the hotels control but the hallways were loud. The breakfast wasn’t too bad but it was hard to find a seat. The location is kind of shady but that’s to be expected as you’re in the city but there is a homeless shelter across the street so lots of people hanging around and you can see them doing drugs, we just kept on the other side of the street. …
Stayed here for a family holiday in Ottawa. It’s located conveniently near the city centre and opposite the shopping centre. Check in was ok, staff were friendly. Rooms were clean but the bed can be a bit uncomfortable. We had dinner and there was a guy called Calvin who served us was very friendly and always wanted to chat with us. Breakfast was average. Won’t consider to stay here again though
We stayed here for 5 nights. It was such a horrible and disturbing experience. We first walked into our room to it smelled like old pee that they tried to cover up with way to much cleaning supplies. After complaining about this, they informed us that no other rooms were available to switch (mind you it was not full what so ever). So we stayed in that room. There was also cigarette smoke coming in through the hall vents and people smoking marijuana on the elevators (we were here for a kids sport event so lots of kids were around this hotel this weekend). The pool was filled with algae (not closed though) so they couldn’t swim. After being told breakfast was included, we get there and find out nothing is included, not even for the kids. We had staff walk right into our room numerous times wondering why we were still there when we had booked the room until Monday. There were no cleaning services over the 5 days (okay I get it.. Covid) but when asking for extras as we ran out, it was like pulling teeth to get enough. They had no towels left because they weren’t cleaning them so they gave us pool towels. There was garbage bags and dishes all over the halls as the staff didn’t pick them up. The reals problems started with the Director of operations, Chris MaClean. He was extremely rude and disrespectful to us while we were in the lobby. After the rude encounters, our kids came up and told us he was following them around the hotel/in the elevators when they were getting ice and trying to speak to them/pointing his hand in their face. They came to us right away crying and told us what had happened. We felt very uneasy about this and it was not a comfortable place to stay. The kids were very freaked out and we left the next day. This was one of the worst experiences at a hotel ever. I HIGHLY URGE YOU NOT TO STAY HERE! There are FAR better hotels in Ottawa for just the same price.…
no room service our entire 5 days - no microwave or fridge in rooms - someone was smoking in the room next to us and our room and hallway smelled like smoke the entire 5 day stay - we complained several times without success - there was hair in our sink when we arrived - we asked for towels and they weren’t delivered - we had people smoking marijuana in the elevator the last night - Chris McLean - the director of operations - was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Told us that we were being loud and disrespectful because we were talking in the lobby. After confronting him on the point, he asked that we leave, and we did. - website states kids stay and eat free (under 18), which was not the case - were told breakfast was included, but it wasn’t. - asked for rooms for group activity, they denied us access without paying $250, and we had to use their food and hire their bartender. - there was an odour of marijuana on the 6th floor. - the pool had green algae all over the walls - there are no fans in the bathroom - garbage bags are laying in the hallway waiting to be picked up Finally. The WORST. Chris MacLean - the director of operations - followed children in the hotel. After the incident in the lobby, he followed them into the elevator. He scared them. He made them cry. This is NOT appropriate. In any way shape or form. I expect a response from Holiday Inn.…
Unpleasant experience as a customer. After a long road trip of several hundreds of kilometers we arrived before checkin time and exhausted. We asked for an early check in for our booked room but the person at the reception said that it would be only possible starting 3pm. With hundreds of rooms available he did not even checked to see if there was at least one clean or available. Making sure to help or that we are having a plesant stay was clearly not among his list priorities. The person could not be less bothered to decline paying customer without even trying to help. On another note, I noticed that there was a leak at the entrance of hall with a bucket and sign below. This our first and last time there and definitely would not recommand that place to anyone.
I checked in with my students today, March 4th, at 3:45 pm today for one night stay and was told ros we booked were not ready and we waited 30 mins to get checked in. I went to the fitness center at basement and water bottle on drinking machine was empty, so I told staff to change water. He did take the water bottle and never came back with filled water bottle. I went back to my room at 416 to shower and found that draining the bath tub was blocked. So I called front desk and she told me that plumber would come to fix the drain. I waited for 30 mins and nobody showed up and I had to call again. 10 mins later, the guy came with a machine. He told me that he took out lots of hair and it would work and left. I took a shower 10 mins ago and found that water still sat without draining properly. It was almost midnight and I had to shower with water in the bath tub. Anyway, it was frustrating for the service. The facility is pretty new, but the service is really not up to the basic standard at all…
We thought being a Holiday Inn, the proper would be spotless..BOY WAS I WRONG! Urine stains in toilet, urine on the toilet, dirty non draining tub, sink dirty, dust everywhere! Even room phone was filthy. The pictures explain.
