The hotel is on the periphery of downtown and not exactly in the middle of the action still, this is our only complaint. We visited for tiff 40 and had an excellent time. The hotel and rooms were clear and the staff (particularly Ms. Fournier) was very helpful. The subways is close and the hotel shuttle can take you into...

We have stayed at the Grand numerous time when visiting Toronto for business or pleasure. Our experience has always been exceptional from the rooms to the customer service. The Grand is located within walking distance to Yonge Street is you are wanting a shopping experience or there is also shuttle service within the downtown district. Love this hotel and will...

The neighbourhood looked somewhat sketchy as we pulled up at night. The lobby looked like its photo but really worn around the edges. The people working at this hotel were pleasant though and helpful. By the time we arrived in our room though, it didn't matter how nice they were. We felt the photos on their website to be misleading....

Only stayed for 1 night, the hotel does what it says it's very grand.... We had a wonderful room very clean... In the evening I would have like to go in the plunge pool on the roof to relax after 8 hour flight. ..but it was in use by 5 people, who after hour was still in! The other tub...

we stayed at this hotel as a family and had a suite. The Hotel Lobby, its location is pretty good. the rooms we had were not meeting my expectaitions. the windows were dirty. apparent construction dirt inside the room. the furniture is rather old. and the bathroom is not only very small but also in a bad shape. the roof...

Recently stayed in this top class hotel on a visit to Toronto and I cannot praise it highly enough. Location, food, staff, service, welcome, amenities are all top class. Pool is excellent and rooftop spas superb. When they had made an error in reserving a smoking room for me (I confess to having a vice!) I was immediately upgraded to...

The roof-top hot tubs were fabulous! Amazing views of the city, wonderful at night! Relaxing and really special. The hotel was spotless, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good and the underground parking was handy. We walked to the market, the Hockey Hall of Fame and the old Maple Leaf Garden. The hotel made our overnight in...

We stayed two nights here and wished it was another night longer. The hotel is close to Yonge Street and the Eaton Centre. There is covered secure parking in the basement with access into the hotel. We didn't have time to use the pool but did go up to the roof to catch the view and imagine it's a great...

Went to Grand after some recent nights at the Omni King Edward. Grand has a very nice pool and a stylish gym compared to Omni. Free wifi and no issues using business center printers. The room next door was occupied by a family with kids having a bad morning (every day). Their noise was in fact quite disturbing. Location may...

We booked on line and were more than happy with this really good hotel. All the staff were fantastic and the rooms were spotless and the kitchenette, micro wave and fridge really useful. Restaurant and Room service was efficient and really good food. The added bonus was the 'free' breakfast that really sets you up for the day. Whilst we...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
