I really enjoyed my stay here, the rooms are very clean, the breakfast is perfect and James, the host, is a very nice guy. I also liked that the kitchen is accesable 24/7, so I could store my drinks in the fridge and use the microwave to heat up my pizza. There was a collection of tea for breakfast and...

If you want no fuss but a friendly and efficient place to stay, this is the place to be in Toronto. From receiving great instructions about how to get from the airport by public transport (it took 1 hour and $3) and how to access my room late in the evening, everything worked smoothly. It is good and simple accommodation....

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our room was very clean and sharing a bathroom was not a problem at all. James, the manager was extremely accommodating providing us with all the info we needed regarding our sightseeing in the city. We loved being able to walk to the downtown in the evening and feel so safe. The breakfast...

End of July i stayed in the Downton Home Inn with my better half for three nights and we did have a great time there The place thankfully does not have the typical anonymous character of a hotel but we found a nicely decorated and well kept terraced house which comprises six guest rooms in total on the three floors,...

The Downtown Home Inn is my go to place whenever I need accommodation in Toronto. I discovered this place in May of 2011 after reading several reviews. I have since stayed here a handful of times. A series of appointments found me staying there for the entire month of July! So far, I have stayed in the Acacia, Lily, Violet,...

This was my second trip to this b&b and certainly my destination in the future. I was pleased to see that most guests I had an opportunity to talk to are repeated guests like me, which says a lot about the place and it is tastefully decorated. It is important to mention that I lived in Toronto for more than...

Good services, warm atmosphere. My room was small but clean and cozy. Shared bathroom but I did not see any queue to take a shower. If you don't mind walking much you can see lots places like CN Tower , Dundas Square, Old and New City Hall etc without taking any public transport. The manager, James, is very friendly and...

I read an earlier review that got it right. This Inn is fine if you don't mind some trade offs for a place to stay in the city. The house appears to have been recently renovated so it looks nice. The breakfast is DIY -- they leave things to eat out on the counter and in the fridge and everyone...

Thank you for your feedback. I pay close attention to all reviews and try to explain if there are issues brought up. I'm sorry you didn't feel that Cawthra Park was as safe as residents in Toronto find it to be. It is truly a lovely addition to the Church Wellesley Village and very safe. We are located in the...

Good place to stay although not as close to downtown as we thought.B and B itself was excellent and James made us feel very welcome and at home.We had the Tulip Room at the front of the house and it was very comfortable and although you had to share a bathroom it was never a problem and the bathroom was...

Affordable, clean, and very comfortable! I stayed in the Acacia room for two nights and it is very cozy; there was a TV in my room and the B&B has free wi-fi. Guests were friendly and respectfully kept noise to a minimum. The breakfast had a wide selection of food. James does a great job keeping the place tidy and...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
