This hotel is quite basic but good if you are in for a long stay as rooms have full kitchens and in-suite laundry. Not ideal for short business trips as amenities are limited. No breakfast in the hotel, no room service during the day. Location is good just off Yonge Street.

The Pantages is a perfectly reasonable place to sleep in a central location - the bed was fine, the fixtures worked, no concerns about security, and so on. My complaint is not that it is inadequate, but rather that it presents itself as something that it is not. The hotel would like you to think that it is an upscale...

My wife and I spent a night here on March 9th, we arrived early and were told to come back in an hour to check on status of our room. Pella the woman at the front desk was amazing, the parked our car for us so we wouldn't have to pay for parking. And 1 hour later we had a...

I recently stayed at this hotel, as I was seeing the musical "The Bodyguard." I booked on-line and opted for the event rate. It is a discounted rate and it also offers half price valet parking, free WIFI and a later check out (1 p.m.). I opted for the room with the queen bed. It was quite roomy and included...

We were happy with the professionalism of the front desk staff and the location and cleanliness of the hotel. Samuel at the front desk was a true pro. 3 days earlier we spoke with him on the phone and he was very helpful. Without making the connection he was even more accommodating and gracious when we arrived on the day...

Our firm booked this hotel for a 2 day stay for a conference in Toronto. It was a 2 room reservation made directly on the hotel's website and confirmed by email sent by the hotel. When we arrived they could not find our reservation and finally concluded that their website booking system had not integrated properly with their reservations at...

I had a group of colleagues staying at The Pantages for a few days at the beginning of March. Jessica was working at the front desk during their stay and she was amazing. She made a number of great restaurant recommendations and was generally very pleasant and helpful. She is a real asset to your team and I would recommend...

Just a quick note, and I never do reviews despite my myriad of hotel stays, to say that the staff at Pantages (especially Andre, Sammy and Claudia) are the best! They accommodate any request or change I make and make me laugh. Can't best that.

I have stayed here several times before and have always been happy. There has been some changes that aren't noted on website such as no more minibar. Not a big thing as it saved money and fridge was still there to use. It took a little longer to check in and clerk was kind enough to offer free breakfast, but...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
