The hotel is showing its age but it's a decent stay for the price you'll pay. Especially when every hotel in downtown Toronto is over $400. Parking is 2 city blocks away, so if you have trouble walking this might not be the hotel for...More
Only smoker room available...so we expected to smell the encrusted smoke in the linen, the mats, a/c, etc...but not THAT strong.
Continental couldn't be more minimal.
George street behind the hotel is pretty sketchy...don't go there.
Well, I won't be back.
I'm always quite proud to tell people that I stay in budget hotels when I travel for business, travel is a huge expense and I like to try and make it cheap where I can.

EconoLodge is a good option for a reasonably-priced hotel not far from the center of Toronto. Sure, you can pay more and be nearer the center, but I found this location to be an acceptable base from which to get around.

At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of
vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
