Got a great deal; wondered why, but never figured it out until arrival at the property - their restaurant (which serves an excellent breakfast, included) was closed for renovations. Instead they offered, on the sixth floor, what tried very hard to masquerade as breakfast. Also, shower temp was barely warm and I am being generous.

We visited Montreal with friends and booked this hotel because of the good reviews and I'm glad I did. Upon check-in we were offered poinsettias (champagne and cranberry juice) and after a long train ride it was much appreciated. The room was clean and when we entered burning logs were on the TV, what a wonderful touch! The staff went...

My wife and I visited during the end of September to early October 2016, as part of our one-year anniversary trip. One word: Wow. Great hotel. Outstanding staff, so friendly and extremely helpful. Luc, the concierge and the two ladies at the front desk, sorry I cannot remember their names - they all were so great. These people go out...

We spent one night at l'Auberge Bonaparte in the heart of Old Montreal. The hotel is close to the waterfront, historical sites, downtown Montreal, the subway and lots of restaurants. We were greeted at the door by Luc Lavoie, concierge, who checked us in and directed us to the closest parking lot. The check-in included a glass of champagne in...

Saw reviews and booked the hotel for one night in Dec 2016. We loved the decor (French traditional mixed with modern touches), service (front desk, bar, servers), and food. The room was spacious, bathroom incredible , amentities, space for toiletries, tub great, shower small. Actually loved the nice 'virtual ' scenery on the television. The view towards the church was...

The hotel is beautiful, clean, well located, and ran by the most helpful and kind staff. The breakfast (included) was delicious, and we were even greeted upon our first arrival with a cranberry prosecco spritzer. Amazing!

We booked a pair of rooms, four in the fam. Love this Hotel! Would love to be back in the summer months! Great location restaurants and attractions in every direction. A bit of street construction on the night we arrived but apparently a regular occurrence in Ol Montreal. Staff very helpful and friendly. Sink drain a little slow but all...

Lovely boutique hotel on a quiet side street in the Old Town (the road was being resurfaced while we were there so front rooms may experience noise until that work is finished). Rooms are large and full of character and good quality bathrooms. It was very hot when we were there but the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast is excellent...

My wife, daughter, and I stayed overnight as part of picking my daughter up at the airport. The staff was friendly and professional without exception and the hotel is very clean and well appointed. We didn't try the restaurant but had a few drinks at the bar. From the kitchen aromas we think we missed a treat. The included breakfast...

Second time staying and it was great. So close to palais de congres. Breakfast was scrumptious. Service always cheerful, helpful and available. Very nice rooms. I loved everything! Except the construction in the front of the building that was no fault of the hotel.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
