Room was very nice and comfortable. Great location to see the sights. Breakfast was perfect with a set menu options. Front desk was very helpful and kind to give directions and advise. Certainly would return to this great little gem.

This is a great boutique hotel, well priced and well located in Montreal's old town. If you are staying in town for business, it is a 5-minute walk from the Palais de Congrès. If, on the other hand, you are here to soak up the sights and sounds of old Montreal, Hotel Bonaparte is just around the corner from Place...

We stayed here in November. Managed to get in and out before the snow. Everything was great. Room was comfortable. We had breakfast in the morning- everything we tried was delicious and we were always saying, "we should just have this everyday." (But we were more adventurous than that.) The location is great - we walked to what we wanted...

Since we last stayed at this hotel it has undergone an ownership change. The entry way has been redone but otherwise it is the same wonderful place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful--especially as the road in front was completely torn up for utility repairs with plywood sidewalks--in helping us in and out. Another change is a...

This was our first stop on our Canadian summer trip. A great hotel. Very accommodating with our late arrival. Husband, (13 y.o.) son, and I had a very comfortable and quiet room. Delicious breakfast and friendly service. Walking distance to several sights. Just writing this makes me want to visit again.

If you are looking for a unique, boutique hotel that doesn't feel nor look like a chain, Hotel Bonaparte should be your choice. Our room (503) was very comfortable - spacious, quiet, and nice decorated. Not only was it incredibly clean, but the exposed brick walls, wood floors, and tall windows gave it a European feel. We enjoyed the view...

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. We arrived and were greeted with cranberry champagne cocktails while waiting for our room to be ready. The concierge was so helpful and provided us with maps and suggestions on what to to do and see in the area. Our room was large, comfortable and had everything we...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
