Reasonable walking distance to the Downtown core..Ste Catherine's street. The hotel is on a busy street and lots of traffic. Strolling Sherbrooke street you see high end galleries, shops and museums.. walk to St Catherine's and you are in the main shopping area. The hotel is clean, the rooms nice size..we were in a king on the front. If you... More

This small hotel is in a great location! Take a stroll down classy Sherbrooke Street and you will pass museums, french pastry cafes, high end stores and excellent galleries.. Nearby Crescent street is full of nightlife and great restaurants. The decor and ambiance is lovely. Nice art work, fresh colors, and some good sculpture . There is a wide variety... More

Spent three nights in a Queen deluxe room. The room was clean but the room and bathroom were on the small size. A room for two with only one chair and not even a small second desk chair as there was no desk. Strongly suggest going for the king size room or one of the suites. We will do so... More

We stayed here over a long weekend trip to Montreal. In our original room, the air conditioning was not working - we were promptly upgraded to a beautiful suite. They have a nice, cozy breakfast room with a great selection of breakfast items. Awesome staff, very clean and neat property and great location close to all the action of old... More

Very cool place. Recommend not going June-August because it is packed! Loved going without all the crowds around. We debated on not going here but are very happy that we did. Historic and beautiful, I would go again in a heartbeat!

We had been at the Versailles 30 years ago, when it was cheap and cheerful, and we were poor students who could not afford the large chain hotels with swimming pools. We visited again for two nights last weekend, and were so pleasantly surprised! It is now a not too ridiculously expensive "boutique hotel", very nicely appointed and decorated in... More

I choose this hotel cause it was the cheapest 4 star i found in the area (I needed to go to the university campus every morning but wanted to stay near the center as well) and i am very happy with the choice!! I stayed for 5 nights, the room was not too big (but I was alone) but very... More

Have stayed here several times over the last decade. Close to Beaux Arts, diverse restaurants, near central city. Valet parking and charming, if slightly worn, facilities, which adds to the charm. Helpful staff.

The hotel is in walking distance of St. Catherine's, the 'main' street of Montreal. The area is full of Asian restaurants and you can have very reasonably priced good Chinese and Vietnamese food. The hotel is also close to the Museum of Fine Arts and McGill University. The hotel consists of two 'old' connected houses (see picture). There is no... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
