Ugh. What a terrible hotel. We booked early in the summer for a stay in the fall and were told by some local friends that the place is just a wreck. So we cancelled by phone and were told our card wouldn't be charged. Then we see a charge show up on our card for the first night! Called the...

The staff were very friendly and kind. It might be best to leave it at that! The place was cheap, it was convenient and the room did it's job. The hotel is really quite outdated and that was a bit disconcerting. There were three possible heating devices and it took me ages to work out how to sort the thermostat...

stayed for 5 nights during grand prix weekend. Had the hotel chosen for us after buying the cheapest Grand Prix package we could. Staff were extremely helpful. Hotel room was extremely small, although did have a small kitchenette area. The bathroom was a wet room. The room was fine but needed updating, shame they had painted it grey otherwise the...

I like staying here when I am in town visiting son at McGill University. It is a short walk/drive to campus. Bixi Bikes are on the corner, which cost $7 for 24 hours, a great way to see the city. We biked to bagels, parks, markets, through neighborhoods and the campus. Our room was clean, had two comfortable beds, window...

That was too old and hasn't any parking place around there. There was no pool, parking , lift , and even restaurant . You have to walk in a long hall with lowest wide to reach your room. after that you have a room with bad view and a small bath (actually with broken sanitary facilities .

We stayed here during the Grand Prix Weekend which was quite hectic for most hotels. We had booked because of the price and weren't expecting much (some of the reviews on Tripadvisor are downright scary). Well, it seems a lot has changed! The two rooms we got were exactly like in the pictures maybe as a result of renovations? The...

This is an older property and shows its age, however it was clean. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and showed us the best areas of the city to visit. For the price, it was a great location to be in. It was within easy walking distance to the heart of the dining and boutique shopping district. Just beware,...

A fun and relaxing weekend in Montreal quickly turned into my worst nightmare. After one night at Hotel Park Avenue, several red, itchy bumps began to appear on my skin, getting more and more swollen throughout the day. I had never had bed bugs before, and my partner showed no reaction, so it took us a whole day to realize...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
