Such a nice place -- quaint, clean and attractive, with friendly staff and a good location. Just two blocks from Boulevard Mont Royal where you can find all sorts of cute restaurants and shops and about a 10 minute walk from the Mont Royal Metro station from where you can get just about anywhere in about 20 minutes. The included...

Great neighborhood location across from the park. Many stores in the area to walk too. Restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops all nearby. Full breakfast, many items to choose from. We parked our car and didn't move it for two days. Our room was on the front overlooking the park. It was warm and comfortable despite the frigid temperature outside.

We are regular visitors to the Auberge and had a park-facing room in the 'second house' side this time. Despite the frigid (-10 C) temps outside, our balcony room was warm and comfortable. Breakfasts continue to their normal high standard of both quality and variety. We walked both downtown and uptown from the Auberge and occasionally grabbed a cab when...

The hotel is in a perfect location for visiting the Plateau region of Montreal with its trendy restaurants and unique shops. Park the car and enjoy the walks. The hotel has that worn look but the staff make up for it with their warm and friendly approach. They were incredibly helpful and responsive. Another treat was the fulsome breakfast, complete...

In Montreal for just 3 nights we reserved a room at the Auberge de la Fontaine. The stay was a delight, A comfortable room, tastefully decorated and an attentive and helpful staff. The buffet breakfasts had an amazing range of choices, fruit, eggs, muesli, yogurt, cheeses, ham, pates, nuts, juices and excellent coffee, and of course croissants, good breads and bagels....

We stayed for 2 nights in this charming little B&B which is quite conveniently located on the NW edge of La Fontaine Park. The centre of the city is not far away and buses are easily accessible. The Mont-Royal metro station however is almost a 1km walk away. Our room was small but spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and with a...

Montreal is my favorite city and The Auberge de la Fontaine is my favorite place to stay. I love the rooms, particularly when I have had a terrace or balcony overlooking the park. The breakfast is always great and well presented. My wife and I are bicyclists and having the inn sit on one of the main bicycle arteries is...

We just returned from Montreal, our 4th stay at Auberge de La Fontaine and were again pleased by everything at the hotel. Clean, comfortable and friendly, with a very nice breakfast buffet. A room at the back is quieter, but the view of the park across Rue Rachel is lovely.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
