Original by its location : it's on the top of the building. Well placed downtown. But due to the architecture of the building itself, it gives a strange feeling. The room are ok, but very american style, with heavy wooden furnitures, deep carpets ... It is quiet though. And comfy. The gym is perfect (again, due to the building, no...

We stayed here for three nights and had an amazing vacation because of this hotel. First of all the 747 bus from the airport takes you one block from this hotel. So you literally only have to walk down one block (2mins) and you are at the hotel. We arrived much earlier than the 3 o'clock check in and they...

Some people have good experiences at this hotel but we were unlucky. We were ignored at check-in after a long flight, then the front desk staff happily put us in a room that didnt really exist. The clerk warned us that the room was hard to find and that everyone gets lost but sent us there anyway. The room is...

We stayed at this hotel for a last minute one night getaway with our pre-teen girls. Pool is fun and really great overall, it's a very good setup with change rooms and lockers, towel attendant, and little tunnel from the building into the pool if you don't want to walk outside. Great pool hours 6:30 am - 10:30 pm when...

My family visited the Hotel Bonaventure for an overnight getaway. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the free wifi was quick and easy to connect to. We enjoyed the outdoor pool at night, and it was great to have access to the underground city. Probably the only drawback was that the hotel layout is a big confusing until you...

I have been going to the Bonaventure since the mid-seventies, and now, for the first time, I have to reconsider where I want to stay when I visit Montreal. Checking the website today, I hoped that something might have changed since my last visit last summer. The Bonaventure was always a place where one could eat well: its restaurant was...

Very comfortable connecting rooms. Kids loved the outdoor pool. wifi fast. Restaurant had good variety of choices for us and children. Service very good in resto. Special kudos to Dina on front desk who helped sort out a booking error on my part. Very reasonable for great spot. Connects to Metro and via underground. Impressive service and everything we needed...

Great location for people traveling using the Metro. It is conveniently located above the Metro station, so it is easy in that sense. To get from the hotel to the parking, have to take two elevators. The elevators are extremely slow and the layout of the hotel is confusing, there are stairs to get to different "levels". Reception was a...

Prime location. Right in the heart of downtown, connected to the underground city and across the road from the train station. We came for a winter escape, no need to venture outdoors if you didn't want to! Enjoyed the heated outdoor rooftop pool despite the most frigid of temperatures. Clean hotel. What a great find!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
