For the one that wrote rude service from the front desk, maybe your the one that was rude at first.. The staff is absolutely AMAZING..from the front door man...to the great reception staff...I beleive her name was Catherine and the manager on...

There is a serious top down management problem at the Bonaventure Hotel. I've travelled all over the world staying in every class of hotel and have rarely been treated so poorly (if ever). The receptionist was cold, rude, and extremely presumptuous. One of my co-workers reservations was lost and rather than apologize and try to help remedy the situation he...

The bonaventure is always a favorite of mine to stay in. Montreal is such a unique city and this hotel is one of its gems. The pool is my favorite spot at the hotel, open year round! When you're at the pool You almost forget that you're in the middle of a city, it's very relaxing. The rooms are nice...

Located on the upper floors of a downtown property, with a garden view, is unique. Staff friendly, rates good for city centre, quiet and well appointed. Good conference venue too. Public transport around the area is good too.

The Bonaventure used to be part of the Hilton chain but is now run independently. It's a pain to get to if you're arriving by train; pay very close attention to the signs. The hotel only covers two floors high up in an office building so is mercifully a long way from Montreal's noisy streets. The rooms were clean and...

Perfect location; large, comfortable rooms; lush greenery everywhere; ponds with ducks and geese whose gentle quacking greeted us in the mornings (rooms without the gardens exposure are available); friendly, helpful staff; be sure to pay the extra for breakfast with your room: as good as any European hotel breakfast: white table cloths; an extensive array of hot dishes, cheeses, cold...

This hotel was in a great location- walking distance to Old Montreal and very close to the Metro and train station. The rooms were clean and pretty standard. The hotel lobby and bar were good. My sister and I had a few glasses of wine at the hotel lounge/bar on our first night. They offer two sizes of glasses of...

When I arrived at this hotel on Sunday, May 31, 2015. I arrived to a rather frenzied scene. A large group of flight attendants and pilots of Lufthansa airlines were checking out all at once. When I finally got to the reception desk I found out that no rooms were ready. It was kindly suggested that I leave my luggage...

Across from the Via Rail station and Metro stop. Rooms were large but needs some bling. Three dumpy feather pillows, plain white utilitarian duvet cover and scratchy towels. Considering what we paid I would have expected the room would have been decorated more attractively. Staff very helpful.

While this isn't the prettiest building from the outside the rooftop gardens and pool make you forget you are in the city. The location is an easy walk to the Centre Bell, McGill University, St Catherine Street and Old Montreal. It is also connected the the rail station and the underground city. The concierge was very helpful.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
