Central location and perfect if you are going to a game at the Bell Centre. Only a block away and easy to walk to. Plenty of food options within walking distance and 2 food courts serving a wide variety. Ice skating rink is indoors and a block away inside a commercial complex. Ask for a room with a view and...

We booked this hotel as a three day prelude to a Caribbean vacation and fully enjoyed the stay. The location was perfect for our walking exploration plans; easy access to the Underground City and the subway as well as the live St. Catherine's and Rene Levesque streets with ample shopping and dining. The staff was excellent and very helpful.

Stayed at the Marriott for the first time in several years. Nothing's changed and when you first walk in you can tell "nothing's changed". The hotel is really needing an upgrade and this is obvious from the lobby, to the bar to your room. The breakfast in the lounge was ok, nothing special. The room that I had was on...

We booked this hotel because we were attending a concert at the Bell Centre and it was accessible underground. The location was perfect. Asked for an early check-in and a low floor and received both. The staff was great offering suggestions where to go and how to get there. The doorman was hilarious! The room suited its purpose. The décor...

Comfortable and well located hotel. However, as a group of business professionals who were in Montreal for a few days, the Concierge Lounge is far below usual and customary offerings. Virtually nothing hot except coffee is served at breakfast. Breakfast breads and muffins was about it and fresh fruit. A platter of cold cuts and that is about it. There...

Hello Walt B - as the manager responsible for the lounge, your feedback is understandable. We agree. Our lounge does not offer as much as many of our sister hotels. I am sorry you feel we are dogging the issue. I assure you we are not. Indeed the solutions may seem to be very simple. I know we will find...

1st time at this Marriott, everything was just great, room was clean, service was great, staff friendly and helpful. The Bell Centre was a 2 minute walk, The entrance to the Underground City was just a elevator ride down one floor, easy access to everything.

Hotel was close to the Montreal Forum. We stayed to watch a hockey. Hotel was clean and the view of the city was excellent. Easy walk to train and subway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

If your in town to catch a game or a show it's really the place to be, great location and very walkable from there! The only flaw is it a 50 year old building and its starting to show, service and staff great but building can use a little love, great price point for our stay.

The location is fantastic. You can get on the subway without ever going outside. It's a short subway ride to all of Montreal's top destinations. The building itself is well maintained, rooms were clean but in need of some upgrades due to age. Staff were friendly and helpful, the concierge in the lobby can help make any arrangements. Price was...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
