We have been staying at this hotel for business for the past few years. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is excellent. It is over the underground mall and near the metro. Montreal is a great city and many attractions are near the hotel. The current exchange rate makes this very affordable.

My new husband and I spent out honeymoon in Eastern Canada staying in mostly Fairmont hotels in May 2016 for 2.5 weeks so we paid quite a lot of money to the Fairmont hotel group. The nicest honeymoon welcome we received was from Toronto with two glasses of bubbles. We receive one (yes one) bottle of water in Ottawa and...

This hotel was beautiful and all the people who worked there were accommodating and helpful. I loved the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, I ended up there once for each. Honestly Montreal is the coldest place on earth in the winter and the fact that the hotel is connected to the underground mall was the major reason we chose this...

I fell in love with Canada all over again when I visited. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. I also like the history of the hotel. Wanted to see the room where John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed in. Will most definitely choose to stay here next time I travel to Montreal. Thank you for a most...

My partner and I arrived after midnight having started the day in Barcelona. We were attending a rather large meeting in the hotel. I had called ahead to alert on our late arrival. The staff could not have been more accomodating. The room had not been either downgraded or "given away". This was a full hotel. Location is good, people...

This is a great location for a great hotel. It is a little older but really well maintained. Extremely clean and comfortable rooms. The beds were heaven. The staff were just EXCEPTIONAL. I can't say enough about them. Very helpful and polite.

This is a Fairmont, so as one would expect, the service is impeccable. That said, the rooms are rather compact and feel a bit confining. The style is typical of a hotel built in about the 1970s or so (low ceilings, small bathrooms). But what this hotel lacks in grandeur, it more than makes-up for in service. I would certainly...

When traveling to Montréal we often stay at the "Queen E". Lovely hotel in the heart of down town Montréal; easy parking access, walking distance to EVERYTHING and the restaurant is divine. The Sunday brunch was a great discovery. We chose the signature option with a quaint continental breakfast for only those who chose this option. Never disappointed with this...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
