My partner and I arrived after midnight having started the day in Barcelona. We were attending a rather large meeting in the hotel. I had called ahead to alert on our late arrival. The staff could not have been more accomodating. The room had not been either downgraded or "given away". This was a full hotel. Location is good, people...

This is a great location for a great hotel. It is a little older but really well maintained. Extremely clean and comfortable rooms. The beds were heaven. The staff were just EXCEPTIONAL. I can't say enough about them. Very helpful and polite.

This is a Fairmont, so as one would expect, the service is impeccable. That said, the rooms are rather compact and feel a bit confining. The style is typical of a hotel built in about the 1970s or so (low ceilings, small bathrooms). But what this hotel lacks in grandeur, it more than makes-up for in service. I would certainly...

When traveling to Montréal we often stay at the "Queen E". Lovely hotel in the heart of down town Montréal; easy parking access, walking distance to EVERYTHING and the restaurant is divine. The Sunday brunch was a great discovery. We chose the signature option with a quaint continental breakfast for only those who chose this option. Never disappointed with this...

The hotel is in a great location; walking distance to bars and reat restaurants. Shopping is close by. 5 minute car ride to the Vieux Montreal - 15 - 20 minute walk. The service is great. The staff is very helpful with directions and assisting in whichever way they can. Being a Fairmont, the breakfast is very good. I recommend...

We were in town for the F1 race, and found the location of this hotel to be ideal. Easy to get to the metro as well as easy walking to all of the main activities. Had a few issues with getting the room cleaned on a daily basis, which for the most part were resolved promptly. It's also a hotel...

A very old and dated hotel ideally position above the Union station so you can alight from the train and take the elevator directly to the hotel lobby. The hotel has now closed down for multi million dollar renovations over the next 12 months in preparation to open for the anniversary celebrations in Montreal next June 2017.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
