We decided that this auberge is our home away from home Of course, when we aren't using it, you are welcome to stay there. Completely charming! Only downside was noise from the neighbours in the adjoining bathroom at 6 am (the auberge needs quiet hours), but delicious breakfast, comfortable and well appointed rooms, and terrific location.

Centrally located near the subway, main highways and the train station, the old brownstone B&B sits on a quiet one-way street near the center of Montreal. Charming would be the adjective that first comes to mind. Breakfast was served in a small dining area that was nicely furnished. The staff at the front desk and in the dining room were...

We had originally booked this hotel for the summer of 2015, but due to a flood at the hotel, they had to cancel the reservation. As compensation, we received a voucher for a deluxe room for our next time in town. We decided to use it to cap off our ski vacation in St Sauveur. We happened to arrive just...

Our room had exposed brick walls, sanded pine floors, a delightfully quirky ensuite washroom, and a garden door onto a wrought iron balcony. The bed was comfortable, the original art interesting, and the breakfast omelette superb. It's a stone's throw from Lucien L'Allier Metro station; we stayed overnight between train trips, and had no trouble taking our luggage from Gare...

Usually stay at the Queen Elizabeth when in Montreal but, fortunately for us it was closed for renos. This B&B was outstanding. We stayed in the deluxe sweet and found it very cozy and with plenty of space. Location to the Bell center is a 3 minute walk and is covered most of the way. A block up and your...

This is a charming old building which has been lovingly restored as a First class B&B in the centre of the city. The rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable bed --- all are queen size so if you want king, this is not for you. The value is excellent. The breakfast which is included is superb-- hence the name, Bons...

They used to have a smashing breakfast, with a large fruit salad bowl, croissants, cheeses, smoke salmon, etc. However, they downsized the breakfast, and raised the prices. The rooms are relatively clean, but they never give you enough towels, and it's been increasingly more difficult to get a hold of someone after hours. The rooms that are below ground level...

We stayed there for 1 one - we had previously been there as well in 2009. Beautiful cozy room with a private terrasse - Location location location - we were going to a Habs game, we didnt even have to wear our winter jackets, we were right next to the Bell Center! The breakfast in the morning was delicious! The...

I bought my son tickets to watch the Habs play so we decided to make it a family bonding weekend along with my wife and daughter. I wanted a place that was within walking distance to the Bell Center, restaurants and to Ste.Catherine Street. I found this on one of the travel websites and it received great reviews. This is...

Great hotel if you're looking for something quirky and a different. We were two families of 4 and 5 travelling together and stayed in two of the family rooms. Both were completely different from each other but offered plenty of space and comfy beds. Our group of 9 gathered in the larger of the two family rooms (801) for post...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
