A friendly and helpful reception staff greeted us upon our arrival to show us to our rooms across the street at the Annex building. The rooms were well kept and ready for us ahead of schedule. It wasn't until we returned to our room that evening that we noticed we could hear our neighbours on all sides of the room....

Cool looking hotel, but not the Bed and Breakfast I was looking for. LOTS of steep stairs to the front door... difficult if you are hauling up luggage. Front desk person was sort-of friendly, but not overly helpful. I had one of the "Superior" rooms... thankfully didn't book a "Budget" room (no telling what that would be...). I have no...

I had a great stay at this hotel. The best thing when arrive in a place you do not know at all 8.000 km from home is to find a kind person that welcomes you and makes you feel at home. The presons at the reception re very nice, very kind, very helpful. Everything was smooth, the only thing that...

The staff definitely didn't want to have their day interrupted by such things as making sure their guests have a restful stay. We were woken up Saturday morning by the cleaning staff banging the vacuum cleaner against our door & wall. When asked to keep it down she was offended that we were interrupting her schedule with our need for...

We enjoyed staying at this quaint hotel in Montreal. The room was better then we expected having read some reviews. It was quite large and opened up to a balcony. Some people have not liked the breakfast but that wasn't a factor for us, neither was walking up a flight of stairs with our luggage. The staff were friendly and...

Centrally located to most of the tourist attractions. The hotel itself was very cute, we stayed on the first floor nearest the hotel staff desk/front door and the room was fantastic. 3 huge beds with probably the nicest bathroom we had on our trip (of 8 cities in US and Canada). The comp breakfast was crap, but I wouldn't let...

A rip off. Grubby hotel. No lift, room on 2nd floor. Very small, very hot room. Air con did not work properly and we got very little sleep. No ventilation in the shower room and 2 bulbs were out. It took 10 minutes, timed, to get hot water in the shower. Breakfast was a joke. Very expensive for this standard...

On Saturday night I was celebrating with my wife a good friends birthday at a local restaurant and decided that booking a room might be a good thing to do since we live outside of Montreal. So at the last minute I started calling several hotels. All of them we're booked tight, a friend recommended I call Hotel de Paris...

After arriving in Canada and finding out that our accommodations fell through at the last minute, my friend and I found Hotel de Paris. They had one room left - the smallest (I hope!) and on the top/3rd floor. It was reasonably priced for a Saturday and Sunday night stay without a reservation and when we got upstairs we found...

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
