Location is top. While not in the midst of the tourist crazy Rue St. Paul area, it is a very nice short walk to the Rue St. Paul area. One is surrounded by more historical architecture - and has a lot of character - than if one stayed closer to the business district near St. Catherine shopping street. Concierge -...

We were upgraded to a junior suite. It was luxurious . The turn down service was wonderful . Loved the bar, check out the delicious nuts! Made with hot sauce and maple syrup. The concierge were terrific . We had never done that before. The keys are electronic and are attached to these huge key chains and you turn them...

I had to cancel last minute because of a medical emergency. I called the hotel at 1am the day of arrival which is within their cancellation policy. The receptionist could not find my reservation which I had modified for an earlier arrival. He eventually found it with the initial dates and cancelled it, even sending me an email confirming the...

Dear guest, Thanks you for taking the time to share your feedback on TripAdvisor. Being woken up abruptly is never pleasant and we apologise if this was the case that particular morning! The Hotel St James is a five star property. Smaller Hotel but terrific location and beautiful facilities. Well trained staff. However, the Hotel exterior is being remodeled. This project will take several months. Be forewarned ! A real nuisance and will get noisier as time goes by. Expensive Hotel.

The St James is a lovely boutique hotel (not too big, not too small by north American standards). It is decorated in "traditional old-british" style and I personally loved it as it is a welcome change from the "modern" chains. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed and the staff attentive and very helpful. Did I mention that their bar...

An old fashioned small hotel near the "old town." Unfortunately construction scaffolding obscures its entrance and we passed by three times trying go find it! The staff are friendly and professional. Good dining and room service was better than adequate. Nota bad choice if you want go be near old Montreal.

Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
