We booked LHotel for a 3 night stay in Montreal. There is no doubt this hotel is perfectly located for exploring the city and the lobby and rooms are great. The lobby is very colourful with amazing pieces of art hanging on every wall. A great space to relax after a day in the city. The rooms are large and...

Was staying in Montreal to give a talk and booked in via Expedia to LHotel in old Montreal. Arrived at the desk and gave my name. They couldn't find my reservation. Turned out I stupidly booked it for the following night and the hotel was apparently fully booked. EEEEK! However, there was one room that's a bit smaller that they...

Okay, The first thing you have to know about his hotel is that it is an hilarious incongruent hodgepodge of design. Seriously. The lobby looks like Andy Warhol and the Duck Dynasty family threw up all over it. Very Modern art mixed with American Kitch art makes for an interesting first impression. Just be for warned. The lobby and hallways...

Dear Lara T, Thank you for recounting your stay with us at LHotel Montreal. We agree, the art collection is very particular in the entire hotel, which is what makes us so different! This hotel is very well located for sightseeing in old Montreal near many good restaurants, the port, a number of museums. Two subway stops are about two blocks away. The hotel is very clean, well furnished our room was large and very comfortable. The continental breakfast is great but no variation from day to day. We will go back.

Dear LovePV_11, Thank you so much for your excellent review! We are very pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the great attractions the city has to offer. We are sorry the breakfast seems to be similar from a day-to-day basis, when baking fresh every day we try to have ‘’seasonal’’ arrivals which sometimes...

This charming privately owned hotel boasts wonderful, friendly service and superb accommodations at a reasonable price. The rooms were large, with high ceilings and very comfortable bedding. Fine towels and a sizeable bathroom with terry cloth towels were an enhancement. The hotel is in a wonderful old town location just around the corner from Notre Dame and some excellent restaurants....

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
