We were in the city for just one evening for appointments and were very satisfied with our experience. May as well get the cons out of the way first, the hallways and rooms do show some wear and tear. Carpets could be changed and they could definitely use some new paint on the walls. The toilets flush slow and the... More

This hotel is located downtown Montreal. It was clean enough, and safe enough. It is not extravagant at all, but you may have already guessed that by the price-point. The free breakfast is great and they have underground parking for $25 per night. I recommend it for those seeking a bargain, but not for business travel.

The front lobby is very nice, restaurant is clean and modern. The staff at the front desk, was great, there was a slight mix up with our reservation but Natasha was very quick to address it and was super friendly. The rooms are quite dated, clean but not really nice. There are a lot of marks and scuffs and dirt... More

We stayed at Hotel Faubourg for one night while in Montreal visiting friends. Although the location of the Hotel is great, we found our room worn down and in poor shape. The bathroom was not clean and there was a very, very strong smell of paint in the room and hallways.

Stayed in Montreal for 8 days and the Hotel Faubourg was our home base. We chose this hotel as my parents had an interview at the American Embassy. We were thrilled that the hotel was walking distance. It was nice to have the kitchen as we would be staying for more than a week. The furniture was outdated, but the... More

Good location - on transit routes, safe area, few blocks from an IGA for groceries. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet. I slept well. Kitchen was a bit of a surprise. I was really impressed. Big positives for the clean room, how quiet, and how comfortable the beds are. Loved the fact that the fitness center is open at 530 in the morning. Perfect! Hotel is very central to down town and has parking. Free WiFi. I only wish that the breakfast didn't use so much disposable product. Plastic cutlery and... More

Thought we were getting a fair deal - 2 bedroom unit for the family for $175/night pre-paid, however this is definitely not the hotel suite you want to take your family to. I have many bad things to detail, but on the other hand, bed was clean and comfortable, which is basically the most important thing on low-budget accommodations. Rooms were probably used as entire condo units in the past. Huge Living room, plenty closet space, big master suite, bathroom and even small kitchen. Cons: - Everything is ridiculously outdated - Carpets... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
