My partner and I stayed at the B & B for 4 nights with friends in two of the other rooms. The rooms were very comfortable, great mattress and enough room for clothes. Hot shower was so relaxing. The hosts, Nicolas and Phillippe were so friendly, attentive and personable and made our stay there memorable. Delicious breakfast each morning and...

This is the second time we stay at Philippe and Nicolas' and it is just as fun and a good experience as in the first time three years ago! was a pleasure to stay with them, cute apartment-like duplex room, great neighborhood; funny and warm hosts: we're fans!

We enjoyed our stay at the "BBV" immensely. The property is well kept and appointed. Our room was spotlessly clean and offered everything we needed. Philippe, Nicolas and their staff are great hosts. Friendly, welcoming, and they provide the answers to all your questions regarding your stay in Montreal. The breakfast was fantastic: everything freshly prepared, well-presented, and a great...

We arrived for a three-night stay. Philippe and Nicolas treated us wonderfully. The rooms, food, and location all work very well. On-site secure off-street parking is a real bonus in a large city like Montreal. Knowing we would return through Montreal on our driving trip, we quickly made additional reservations for the following week. We've stayed in many B&B's over...

We arrived late after a flight, bus, metro day that had more than one wrong turn and we were hot, tired and hungry. Philipe expedited our warm welcome with immediate air conditioning, a quick feet-up on soft pillows and directions to the best Vietnamese food I have tasted, ever (I mentioned we were really hungry!?!), le Red Tiger. Our four...

Philippe and Nicolas were outstanding hosts! Above and beyond with accommodations, friendly, helpful, and really knew when to engage in conversation and when to give us space to enjoy quiet time relaxing. Perfect example: The first Morning we decided to enjoy breakfast outside on the back deck. The second Morning, two place settings were already outside awaiting us. Great attention...

Perfect in every way. Amazing hospitality, you feel at home. We stay at the Bed & Breakfast du village the first weekend of June for 4 nights. We have already recommended BBV to friends and if we visit Montreal again we will just stay there period. The owners are this kind of people you meet once in a life time...

You cannot beat the location and the hospitality of the owners. Both made our 4 night stay in Montreal really memorable. The rooms are a bit tight, but clean. The bathroom is just what you need and having access to a deck in case you want a quiet night is a real treat. My only complaint is the breakfast. It's...

The location is perfect if you want to be in the heart of the gay village. The off street parking is worth a little extra. The inn keepers are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. The rooms can be on the small side but they are well appointed, but the bed was the best part. Spending...

We can not say enough about our hosts Philippe and Nicolas, they made us not only feel at home but part of their family! Great location, close to most places within walking distance- secure off street parking worth the $10- Center of Old Montreal only 20 minute walk! Super breakfast, super room! Congrats on your 5th anniversary-

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
