Having been an innkeeper myself for twenty years, I judge a property with a critical eye. This little gem is well located for shopping, arts, and exploring much of new and old Montreal. Our room was well appointed, good beds and linens, plenty of towels and amenities. Impressive credentials including their efforts to be responsibly Green. The breakfast basket was...

To be honest- I actually loved my stay in this hotel apart from my experience with day receptionist named Jessica. A couple of hours before our checkout we came to know we had a death in our family. We had plans to go to Mount Trembalnt but cancelled everything to head back home. I requested Jessica to give us a...

First time staying in Montreal, we booked this hotel for 2 nights over a long weekend. The room was small, but warmly decorated and clean. The best part was the breakfast that came each morning in a cute wicker basket. We loved Montreal and will definitely be staying here when we're in town.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel recently, to meet up with relatives who were in Montreal for a sporting event and were staying around the corner at another hotel. This was by far the better choice of hotel! This is a charming hotel in the tradition of small European hotels. Our room was clean and well kept and...

First time staying in Montreal and this hotel was great. Room was small but had everything we wanted and was furnished beautifully, very modern décor. Breakfast basket was nice and staff was great. Right across from the subway so easy to get around to different tourist attractions.

It is this kind of small hotels where you have everything. Everyone from the staff was very welcoming and we instantlly felt like at home. Our bedroom was very small but you find everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean as well. The most special thing is that since they have got a...

Having booked this room through a "blind" booking on a travel deal site, I had no idea what to expect. What I got was a cozy little room (emphasis on little), but clean, in what felt kind of like a rooming house (I guess), with a staff that was friendly and helpful (in both French and English), and in a...

Loved the breakfast basket full of delicious goodies we received each morning. Loved taking it the downstairs dining area to join others who were also staying at the inn either vacationing or there on business. Met some lovely people. Fresh croissants, muffins with yogurt, fresh fruit and cheese - perfect way to start out mornings in the beautiful Latin Quarter...

The hotel was easy to find, but we had a little trouble finding the parking as it's around the corner down a one-way street so we had to drive around the block. It seemed easy, but we missed a turn and had to fight through rush hour traffic to get back on track. Check in was fast and easy, service...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
