I've stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. The location cannot be beat and the rates are some of the lowest in the neighborhood. Lots of restaurants, bars and shopping are all around the corner. Metro stations are nearby as well. If you drive, they have free parking in the back or on the side of the hotel....

I have stayed in this hotel a few times over the past few years. I like the convenient location. It is in the village so one is near metro stops, restaurants, and night life. The most recent time I stayed there, I was given a room that had a very small shower with old tiles. That was not the case...

Room was tiny, but nice and clean. The shower was a little gross looking, but maybe just due to old tile and grout. The location was great - walking distance to old port, and right next to major metro stop. The parking lot is extremely tight - if you have a large vehicle the only way in is to drive...

Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. When I checked in the young lady at the reception desk asked for my name and quickly found my info on her computer. I paid, she gave me the key card for my room and asked me what time I would like the complimentary breakfast taken to my room in the morning. The...

I amstill in the room at the time of writing this review. Let's start with the positives: The hotel is located in a great location, close to the entertainment district, there is a music festival going on a couple of blocks away and the neighborhood is all nicely decked up. The manager at the reception is a friendly person and...

My mom and I stayed at this hotel. The room was very large with two queen size beds. Breakfast was great and the service was super. We had a great stay and I am planning to stay there again this July.

When we checked in I was happy. The girl at the desk was nice, the parking was free (although very very tight with an SUV) and the room was decent. The location is good. The next morning at 6:30 I could hear this awful noise going down the hallway and someone knocking on doors. It kept happening, at 7:30 I...

This hotel is quite well situated for visitors wanting to stay in the downtown area of Montreal. It is relatively inexpensive, and while the rooms are nothing special, they are clean and well-maintained. The hotel brings breakfast to your room at the time of your choice (between about 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.) which consists of juice, baguette, croissants and...

Looking at Hotel Le Saint Andre from the outside, one is a little sketchy to go inside. Once we entered and got into our rooms, we were very impressed. Very clean, decent sized rooms. It was within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and it was very close to the subway. Overall, a great place to stay in Montreal! Great...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
