A beautiful home away from home on a quiet street near all the wild nightlife. Convenient to two metro stations making it easy to get anywhere in the city. I had a room with a shared bath, but it had an inroom sink making it very convenient. It had both an air conditioner and a fan. And a bowl full...

We chose to celebrate our 30th anniversary in Montreal July 25-27 and had the good fortune to stay at Alexandre Logan. All the superlatives that you read on tripadvisor about this lovely B&B are entirely accurate. We were greeted by our host Alain who provided a very comprehensive overview of the best places to see during our visit. His B&B...

Right from the moment we stepped into this beautifully restored B&B we felt very welcomed by our host Alain. He toured us through the house and especially our room (which included a claw footed, deep tub and outdoor shower on our 2nd floor vined terrace). Alain then brought out a map and circled all the sites to see, the festivals...

We stayed four nights on an anniversary trip to Montreal without a car. The location is perfect (two Metro stops within an easy walk) with great restaurants in walking distance (highly recommend Kitchenette). The property was lovingly restored by our host, Alain, and was lovely and clean, but not ostentatious. Our room was spacious and had a really nice balcony...

The suite was located in a historic town house, on the top floor with both an outdoor balcony and shower. Within walking distance to many city sites and a short walk to the metro. Alain the host, was very informative, and helpful on giving directions. Breakfast was delicious.

Alain is a fantastic host. This is a wonderful b&b with gourmet breakfast. He checked with us about food allergies/preferences upon arrival. He also explained the layout of Montreal and gave us a map, with other helpful info about the area. Alain seems to run his b&b like a well-oiled machine! It's a quiet street, but close to the action...

This was such a great place to stay! It probably doesn't need another 5 star review, but it definitely deserves it. The breakfasts were amazing and left us full for hours, our host was very friendly. and it's in a great location. We had clear directions on where to go and all of that. We stayed in room 3 (claw...

Alain was very warm and friendly, breakfast was a new surprise every morning. The rooms are very clean with common spaces that create a pleasant casual atmosphere to hang out in on a rainy day. The location can't be beat with the main drag of the gay strip a block away and two train stations nearby. Easy walk to Mount...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
