Stayed here one night in winter (January 2024). Positives are the beds are very comfortable and linens of good quality. Location is great. Parking is easy. Check-in was fast and easy. Why I downgraded the review to 3 stars: 1. I had lukewarm water for my shower in the morning. My two colleagues who also stayed reported that their two showers had only cold water. 3 rooms with no hot water for the shower in the morning is unacceptable. 2. We came back from a late dinner around midnight and the front door to the hotel was locked, without the room key providing access. You had to call the front desk to let you in. Perhaps not a big deal during the summer, but in winter with the weather at -10 degrees even waiting one minute felt unacceptable. While I didn't have any issue with noise, my colleagues felt their rooms were a bit noisy.

Dear guest, Thank you for the positive feedback about the comfort, the service and the location. I am very sorry about the problems you encountered during your visit. The problem with the water was resolved quickly, but I understand that when it's time to get ready to work, any delay is too long... We do lock the doors for security reason, usually after midnight. I apologize for the inconvenience it caused, I hope you didn't have to wait too long. I certainly hope you will think of us while visiting Quebec City. Au plaisir, Sarah

We spent four mild, snowless(!) nights, including Christmas, with family in Québec City and stayed at this hotel. What a good experience. Quiet, elegant rooms with comfortable beds and furniture. Excellent water pressure/temperature and bathroom lighting. Multiple well-placed outlets. Excellent (air) temperature and humidity control (in the entire hotel, actually, notwithstanding the cavernous ceilings). Cozy, classic, and classy lounge designed to let guests share public space while maintaining their respective private zones. Pet friendly. Basic but fresh/delicious breakfast (plus, the immediate vicinity is chock-full of great eating places). Very professional, courteous, attentive staff (all smiles and grace while working on Christmas). Located an easy walk from many of the iconic and quaint sites/sights of the city. We’ll definitely be looking to return to Hôtel Le Germain for future visits.

I really hate to write this review simply because I don't want to share this gem of a hotel. This place is perfection. The front desk staff are warm and charming, not to mention incredibly helpful. The rooms are immaculate and fresh. The back terrace and lobby were very cool chill hang-out spots and we became friendly with other travellers and the staff. Breakfast included the most amazing croissants, we each nabbed on for our flight home. This place is located within walking distance of almost everything. We loved it and will be back.

We stayed for a long weekend September 22 through the 24th. We arrived well before check in time and were immediately accommodated. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. The front desk staff doubles as wait staff . They all remember your name and room number. The lobby is a beautiful area with couches, a library ,board games, a fireplace and a cappuccino machine. You can also order wine , martinis and after dinner drinks while lounging in the library. There is an outdoor courtyard with complimentary music. We felt so comfortable and welcomed! We would love to go back!

A lovely older hotel on the outskirts of the old quarter of old Quebec, Hotel Le Germain was very quiet and elegant. The staff are comfortably bilingual and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. My only reason for the 4 stars and not 5, is the distance from the city center which meant walking uphill to get around, or taking the funicular up - not terrible, but less convenient. All in all a lovely place to stay and would recommend highly.

A Quebec City Boutique Hotel within a few blocks of the old town, it offers comfort and convenience in a quiet location of the city. A number of room arrangements are offered. We chose the twin bedded Classic room: the main bedroom with a small foyer leading to a large bathroom. Not a great view from any of the windows, but very comfortable, especially the beds. Amenities include full bathroom and shower supplies, thick fluffy bathrobes, and a wide screen TV (with most channels in French!). Very quiet. Continental breakfast served in lobby areas or brought to your room (service charge). Outdoor patio with bar service. Parking lot next to hotel. Walk about 4 blocks down the street the hotel is on and you’re in the Old Town. Didn’t appear to have valet help, so we were on our own with bags. Very slow elevator! In the city, so not inexpensive: we paid $440/night (Canadian) plus another 20% for all the taxes. The hotel does not exchange money, and the nearest ATM didn’t work, so plan on bringing some Canadian currency with you.

We had a lovely three night stay at the Hotel Germaine in Quebec. The city is charming and reminiscent of staying in Europe. Hotel Germaine is in lower city which was perfect. A little quieter than upper city. We stayed on the 5th floor and had a great view of the river-and even caught a rainbow from our room! Lower city has some great restaurants, shops, and cafes with amazing pastries. It was easy to get to upper city (we walked up once and down many times) and took the Funicular up a number of times. ( A really fast and easy way to go up!) Our room was perfect and the hotel staff was professional, helpful and friendly. We booked directly with the hotel and they sent us a list of recommended restaurants and suggested making a reservation before traveling. They also booked a tour for us. We made a reservation at three restaurants ten days in advance and were grateful for their recommendation to make a reservation as the restaurants were full each night. We also booked the park and relax package since we drove to Quebec. Parking is not easy if the hotel does not have a lot. Lovely lobby for reading a book with a cappuccino machine. We would definitely stay at Hotel Germaine again and recommend the hotel.
