This hotel was in a great location, and had a small supermarket just a few steps away, which was very convenient. The rooms were accessed individually, kind of like a motel. The room was spacious, with 2 queen beds, and even had a table and chairs where we could have our breakfast (included with the room). The shower had good water pressure. The curious thing is that the shower and toilet were in separate bathrooms – toilet and sink in one, and shower and another sink in the other. The only downside was that we had to keep the curtains closed otherwise someone walking by could partly see into our room. There were only a couple of parking spots in front, otherwise you have to park round the back, but it's possible to do a drop off in front. They also have a restaurant, which we ate at one night, and found the food to be really good, better than we expected.

We visited this hotel last month we wanted a nice and quiet week-end but it was all the contrary. We had room 2 really really small one, the shower is extremely narrow, the bed uncomfortable, no coffee machine, noise after 630 am from the construction just infront of the hotel, there is no one after 6pm ( it's better if you make your own home research), the pictures you see on line about the hotel are far away from reality. To sum up small, noisy and expensive.

Booked room on Hotels.com. We looked the pictures, we made sure the size was ok. Found a room included kingsize bed, bathroom and was sold to be around 30 m2. We booked the room for some days and do not request that much but what we got... I guess it was about 10 m2 in size, the smallest bed I ever seen for two people, not a bathroom but a closet with a toilet and a shower. The sink was in the room pressed into a corner between a wall and the small bed. We did complain as soon as we could. Even if I dislike the need to complain. I give them 2 stars. The woman I complained to upgraded us to a studio apartment that was much more than we asked for (it took some time because she had to ask the owner first and I am not sure the owner really wanted to accept that solution) so she did very good. I later complained to Hotel.com too but the information about the room is added by the hotel so they apologized and would report it to the hotel. We got the feeling that they thought we were very unfair. So the two stars is for the upgrade - not for making us feel welcome. Be careful and make sure what you get - if you want something make sure to ask for it before booking. Our room was in a building away from the hotel and I think all the rooms in this building was small like ours.

This hotel gave me the worst experience I ever had with hotels. The reason is, that they did not accept my booking of a nice double room via booking.com. On our arrival, their first idea was to charge our credit card with the full amount. Then they informed us, that our booked room is not available and we need to drive to another building. Surely, I did not accept this and told them about my fix and confirmed booking. They started to abuse us with three or four people who joined this situation. They told us, that the fault was on our side, because we made the reservation with booking.com. As they noticed that we do not speak french, they told us to switch to french now, so we cannot understand. And they did. There was absolutely no way to clear this situation. Finally we took the key from that room in the other building. On our arrival we found the room they gave us: a small single room, one small bed (maybe 4 ft. wide), no full bathroom. To sum it up: We have been cheated for our money. You can expect: we did not sleep a single minute. The situation was horrible. We tried to clearify this problem with the help of booking.com afterwards, just wanted to get acredit. They did not confirm this. They stated to booking.com, that we had the room we booked and paid for. But we did not. My fotos show a small single room without any possibility to place or open our luggage. I want to warn everyone to book this hotel via booking.com. I never had such a horrible experience on a hotel stay!

Not very impressed with this one. The picture of the inn shows the restaurant not where the rooms are. Kind of misleading. You have to walk down the street two blocks to where the rooms are. Rooms are clean but very tiny. Nothing special, but the restaurant is very good.

We stayed for 2 nights in 2016. La Galouïne is also a restaurant. The B&B was behind the main restaurant building (where you make the check-in), near to the bay. However, it was a little difficult to find and to park there. The rooms were downstairs and very spacious, with frigobar, TV and facilities to do our own tea and coffee. They serve the breakfast at the restaurant. Very standard service. It was also very safe: the door lockers was a plus. I would recommend it.

The keyword is "average", nothing really wrong, but nothing really right either. You enter the restaurant for the check-in you feel a little bit in the way of the staff trying to serve lunch. The room, in a separate building was rather calm, but a bit too far for the wifi. Amenities are basic but sufficient, it was nice to have a coffee machine in the room. We didn't eat dinner here, not really friendly & welcoming. Breakfast was quite average.

Stayed here one night after a kayaking trip in the Fjord. The room was upstairs, at the back with a view of the dumpster. It was very noisy all night between what was going on in the restaurant and the traffic to the community toilet just outside our door (our room had a private toilet). The room was tired and in need of some maintenance and updates. Tadoussac is a charming town, and unfortunately the lodging options seem limited, but there has to be a better option than la Galouine.

Four friends travelling together stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Comfortable rooms were in a separate building - very quiet, but nowhere to hang up clothes. Good (but not great) breakfast. Great location and good value.

We were bumped to a sub-standard room that did not have important amenities which were advertised but not available at the secondary site. There was no television, no air conditioning, small bed and the bathroom was an after thought with the sink separate from the toilet and a very small shower. I feel that I have been taken as I was still charged the full price and the lady at the check-in desk was not very helpful - her only concern was that you pay here which was in the restaurant. A supervisor was not available to talk to about the situation. The experience spoiled my visit to Tadoussac. I feel that I have been take advantage of and would never return to La Auberge La Galouine.
