We were placed in this B&B (though not breakfast seemed to be offered) after we were overbooked in Le Pioneer. We were greatly rudely by Lisa upon arrival from Le Pioneer. The room seemed fine and we went to dinner. Upon returning (at 9PM) we got to the hotel and it was locked. Our outside key did not work. We banged on the door and rang the door bell and there was not response. We continued for some minutes. There was not response. I went to the window of the room and was able to eventual pull the fan unit out of the window and force it open enough for my wife to squeeze through. Upon awaking, we again failed to see anyone working there and left.

This bed and breakfast was fantastic. Our host Alain was wonderful, very welcoming and provided us with excellent information and a wonderful breakfast both days. Very generous portions all homemade and different each day to provide us with a hearty breakfast to start our day in a lovely setting. Bedroom included two queen size beds. Décor was very nice and accommodation very clean. This home is filled with beautiful items and especially enjoyable for those who enjoy a wood décor and appreciate attention to details throughout the room and home. Could not have asked for a better place to spend two days. Highly recommend this B&B.

My husband and I have stayed in Tadoussac many times over the years. We come for the incomparable whale-watching coupled with spectacular scenery. For accommodations we seek a comfortable room with a kitchenette in a quiet location, walking distance to the center of town. Room #5 at Petit hotel La Passe-Pierre fit the bill. The back room of this cute, tiny building, has big windows that let in sun and fresh air. It's was a bonus to have a back door to a little yard where the clothesline came in handy for some wet tote bags from our cooler. The room is ideal for a couple, but we made it work for 3 with the use of a portable bed. The large bed was very comfortable with terrific bedding; our friend found the folding cot way too squishy, but the convertible single bed/chair passable, if not ideal. The bathroom has a nice corner shower and good lighting; hot water and pressure were plentiful. The WiFi worked well and the room has good storage, furnishings and supplies. I am assigning a rating of 4 rather than 5 because giving 5's to small, limited service accommodations usually sets future travelers up for disappointment, i.e. "why are people raving about this ?" Also, the included continental breakfast, while cheerfully brought to our room on trays as soon as we rang the bell in the hallway, was not to our taste. (weak coffee, supermarket quality baked goods, canned fruit, boxed orange juice, packaged peanut butter, butter & preserves--the latter were good.) Some people like this sort of fare, but we are foodies. Nevertheless, we would go back for the convenient location and other amenities and just fix our own breakfast or go downhill to the Cafe Boheme for a bol of café au lait corsé. All in all, a very good Tadoussac home base.

While the hotel is nice and clean, I do not understand the rave reviews. This is more a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. It does not have a view nor many of the other amenities that one expects of a "Hotel"

My wife and I came to Tadoussac for hiking and whale watching (we saw white belugas and other types of whales – right from the shore). We had a reservation for three nights at the Petit hotel La Passe-Pierre. The hotel really is small; it is a historic building that has been converted very tastefully into a bed and breakfast/Inn. Regular rooms are quite small. That’s why we asked for more space and ended up in a beautiful room/suite at the back of the Hotel. There is a small kitchen with a microwave (no stove) and a table to eat on. The bathroom is large (no tub), the floors are done in terracotta tiles, the bed is extremely comfortable. A backdoor leads onto a porch to the garden… Breakfast (included in the CAD 125/night) was served to our room in the mornings. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Communication happens mostly in French. Altogether this was a perfect stay – we will be back in this beautiful area!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are tiny but very clean and fresh and the service was fantastic. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable and gave us excellent suggestions for things to see and do in and around Tadoussac. We would definitely stay here again.

On the way back from farther up north, my husband and I decided to stop in Tadoussac for a night. While many auberges had availability, most of them were pricey ($100+) if they were nice and could have two adults in a room. We stumbled upon Passe-Pierre by accident, and were surprised by how clean and comfortable the rooms were, and for a bit less than the other auberges. We stayed in the basement in a room with two twin beds (pushed them together and still had a great night`s sleep), where the bathroom was shared - and only $80/night. The host found out we were leaving early the next morning to watch the whales, and so prepared a little breakfast tray for us so we could keep it in the room's mini fridge and have it the next morning. Very thoughtful staff, gave great reccos for restaurants and sight-seeing. Excellent price and VERY clean and comfortable (e.g. down-filled duvets). Would recommend this gem to all!

I agree with the previous reviewer- this was a very small room with a very small shower. Everything is clean and the owners are very nice, and they bring a small breakfast to your room. The owner also booked us tickets on a whale watching boat which was very convenient. We didn't find the bed very comfortable, but there was wireless internet, so that was a plus! No TV in the room. No a/c, but there was a window fan and it was pretty cool so we weren't uncomfortable. I would say for the inexpensive price it was probably worth it, but I found the room a little cramped. That said, I didn't have expectations of a 5 star hotel or anything. I did peek in the end room and it was bigger, so if you do stay here maybe see if you can get the bigger room. We went in high season (august) so many of the B&Bs that I called before this one were booked.

Toutes les choses sont petits a Petit Passe-Pierre! Everything is small at Hotel Passe-Pierre! But it was very clean and ideally located in Tadoussac. If you are looking for a very basic & simple room, private but small shower, and want to eat a small breakfast consisting of a croissant and mini-muffin in the privacy of your room, then Passe-Pierre is perfect. There is no real reception office, therefore you must ring a bell for service if you need something or have any questions. For this same reason, you must pay for your entire stay upfront when you arrive. The vestibule pictured on the website is the only one in the entire hotel and is smaller than pictured. I was a bit mislead by the website, thinking that this hotel was larger, more of a "boutique" that had lots of original artwork for sale, and had larger and more charming rooms and hallways. It was just a simple, clean room that you really don't want to spend more time in other than sleeping. Again, it's a clean room in an ideal location. If you are looking for just a clean and inexpensive place to crash in Tadoussac, look no further than Petit-Passe Pierre!!
