We spent 7 days in Whitehorse due to a conference being held at the same facility. It was handy to have the room and conference in the same building as the early mornings were quite chilly! The hotel is showing its age as evidenced in our room's thermostat which didn't work. We were given a fan which was helpful but...

Hi Ka-Alberta, Thank you for the review after your conference! I'm glad that everything went well for you. September is one of those tricky months for us where we can't quite figure out what temperature to set in the building, it's too chilly at night and this September is was gorgeous during the daytime! Hopefully you get the chance to...

The hotel was very average and expected more. We (a young family) were placed in the old part of the hotel. It was very noisy and the walls were like paper and could here everything. We were woken up at 4am with loud banging and walking around from either upstairs room or next door. Got fed up and went to...

Hello, I'm sorry about the noise you heard from next door. I am happy to hear that the front desk was helpful and able to compensate you for the missed sleep. I know it doesn't make up for the lack of sleep but it is very helpful to us to make everyone's stay be as comfortable as possible!

The rooms are dated. I'm not sure when it was last remodeled, but I'm guessing 1985. The wifi is definitely from 1985. And, yes, I know there was no wifi in 1985. I'm giving it 3 stars because the front desk is always very nice.

Conally, Thank you for the 3 stars on behalf of the front desk. They work hard to make sure each stay is as comfortable as the last time for each and every guest. We are hoping to get our internet upgraded in the near future, I unfortunately don't know the timeline though!

The hotel with no surprises. No fantasy, the room they call a suite is small with the obligatory big bed. Everything is there, and that is it. If you cannot stand their lounge music, do not dine in the restaurant. We left before it turned us crazy. Service with a smile at the reception upon incheck, nobody around when we...

EppoSt, Thank you for the review. The jazz music in the lounge on Friday's isn't for everyone, I know it depends on my mood that day how long I want to stay and listen! We do appreciate your comments and hope to see you again in the future!

From the outside, you don't expect much. Looks can be deceiving. Unfortunately we arrived to check in just as a Holland America bus unloaded, so check in time was lengthy, but not a big deal. The hotel lobby is much larger and nicer than you would expect, based on the outside of the building. Room felt a bit cramped, but...

Hi Kit R, Thank you for your review of the Westmark Whitehorse. Once of the perks of arriving when we are busy with tour busses are all of the parking spots that we end up having available! I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to hopefully seeing you again in the future!

The hotel caters mainly for cruise tours and is a typical captive market disaster. The hotel blurb starts with "recently refurbished" - well I reckon recently must mean about 1970. The place is drab and monotonous, many areas need some serious TLC and the decor and ambience are simply depressing. Even the breakfast bar cum lunch venue leaves an enormous...

QJH, We appreciate you taking the time to let us know how your stay was. As you said, we are an old hotel and we are located right downtown, which is unfortunately part of the reason we aren't able to have more parking. The building is old (it used to be separate buildings that were put together!) but we do...

Is in a good location. Staff were friendly Seems really grey and dingy, maybe from the era of smoking in hotels. Tired and worn out. Hair dryer blew up. Beds looks scruffy, mismatched pillows. Comfortable bed. Some a la carte for breakfast which I prefer. Dinner meal expensive and I didn't eat there. I thought it was a poor standard...

Average hotel for a one night stay in Whitehorse. Overpriced hotel restaurant so we opted for a walk around the town to find a good restaurant which we did and will post on another review. Roberta A, As you said, we are one of the stops when you are on a Holland America Land Tour so we do our best to make it as easy as possible for all of our guests to have some cash on hand, especially since the banks aren't always open when the tours get in! Thank you for your review...

This is a nice, modern hotel right in the middle of town. Very easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The rooms are standard size with comfortable beds and a decent size shower. We were here for one night & it was just fine for what we wanted. Short walking distance to the main downtown area. We were on the 3rd floor. The room was hot even with the window open & heat off but they do provide a floor fan in the room so we used it to maintain our comfort level....
