This is situated well out of town in a very quiet area, with little lodges set well apart from each other in a natural setting. Our cabin,Fireweed was well appointed for a self catering holiday ,clean, spacious and well equipped. It's not ideal for an overnight stop as...More
We spent four wonderful nights in The Cranberry cabin. The peace and quiet was remarkable! Andrew and Heather were super hosts - we could tell early on that they are truly nice people! Cabin was fully equipped for us to cook all of our meals;...More
This is a true retreat! Quiet, clean and peaceful. Very pet friendly. Staff friendly and professional. Lots of space for walks. Cabins are well spread out. If you plan to visit the hot tub often you might want to call ahead and figure out the...More
While I have to cut Whitehorse some slack for its remote location, the fact is that most of the lodging options are pretty poor. Offerings in town are generally soulless, shabby and overpriced. For better or worse, hotels in town also tend to cater to...More

I believe for December there's only about 5 hours of daylight so keep that in mind. At Sundog since you can be in the comfort of your cabin while you wait and look for the Northern Lights it's great. I was told to look for stars first then if the sky is clear there's a good chance to see it. There's also a rating for each night if you can see it. I went in March near end of the season but lucky enough to see it all 3 nights I was there. You need to be patient, you never know what time it will be visible. It can be 15 minutes or an hour or more. Hope you're able to experience it!
