We arrived during the winter opening hours which was o.k. Other guests arriving outside these hours had a problem because the mobile signal is almost non existent. And they could not get a response from staff to gain entrance. Rooms were well presented and comfortable. If staying in winter be warned there is no central heating upstairs, although there are...

This was a great place to stay for a winter break, in the depths of the Dorset countryside it is the quintessential village inn. Comfy and cosy with log fire, low beams and good food. If you're a vegetarian I'd steer clear as there was a lot of meat and game on the menu, I did try guinea fowl which...

I stayed at this pub/ hotel in the beginning of December with my partner and it was very cold outside but extremely cosy inside and we received a nice welcome from the friendly staff. Our room was very nicely decorated, warm & well equiped. There was constant hot water & the japenese bath & shower were both really good. We ate in...

A most pleasant find. We had never heard of Plush even though it is in Thomas Hardy country. When we eventually found The Brace Of Pheasants -we were most warmly welcomed by 6 feet 8 inches Alec. He willingly unloaded our case from the car.(Yes I am beginning to look my age) and led us to Room 2 one of...

Fabulous setting . Good menu luxurious room in the converted skittle alley adjacent to the main building and just a few miles from Dorchester. Staff were friendly and helpful - food was good - nicely presented. Take your walking boots and a good book - nice place to chill out away from the hustle n bustle.

Quality is the one word to describe this lovely pub out in the wilds. From the warm reception from the young lady on arrival to the quality of the "straight from the wood" ales, the variety and portion size of the dishes for dinner and certainly the size of the room and all its facilities. Room one, erstwhile the head...

What a little gem of a hostelry. What a find! Such a beautiful olde worlde inn - full of charm where every effort is made to delight each guest. Our room (room 8) was beautifully warm with superb wifi and television reception. We ate in the delightful bar/restaurant each night accompanied within our midst by the crackling of a cosy...
