We stayed a 3 different B&B Hotels during our recent holiday and the B&B Hotel Martigues Port de Bouc was the one that out the of 3 in most need of a make-over. The hotel looked somewhat tired. While our room was clean, it lacked charm and was just a place to sleep in. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed one breakfast in our room while we enjoyed the other one on the terrace outside the hotel overlooking the small harbour. We enjoyed the area from where we explored the beach, beautiful nature and visited Arles.

Stayed here two nights in early May, as a place from which to access Marseille by train. Hotel was clean and quiet. Price was good. There was a decent breakfast for a small additional cost. The waterfront is beautiful. We were a little pre-tourist season so not all of the waterfront restaurants were open but the staff at the hotel desk told us how to find a little restaurant in the middle of town where we had some good conversation with the locals about the televised soccer game! Train station was a 5 min walk from the hotel. We took the train to Marseille and spent the day, then back here. Turned out to be a very easy and relaxed way to go to the city. I'd come here again.

Price performans ratio is ok. Pourt de bouc was very quiet at November but there are still restourants that you can find good seafood with good price. Also hotel panorama is good. But keep in mind nothing is inclusive. But very cheap and clean. There are also markets that you can provide your needs.

Budget hotel in a great location near the charming little port. Ideal for short stay, the rooms are in pretty standard conditions, very big and comfortable bed, great shower. You can check in at any time as there's a machine outside the hotel so great if you're planning to arrive late. There's no reserved parking on site so it can be a bit tricky but even during a busy summer weekend we managed to find a place approx. 5 min walk from the hotel. There's no tea/coffee facilities in the room but there are vending machines downstairs. Note that being near the port, it's also close to quite a few bars/restaurants so can get a bit noisy if you've got the window opened. In summer I believe there are daily evening market stalls and entertainment. Didn't bother us as we were in a festive mood anyway! Finally be aware with small children if on the higher floors, there's no protection bars on the windows and they are pretty big windows and quite low. It surprised me a bit as so used to health and safety obsessed in the UK.

We stumbled across this place by accident at 8pm having had nothing booked so was a relief to find somewhere available where the prices had not been put up at the last minute. This part of town was not to most picturesque as it is in an old sea port next to a large industrial port, but it has a gem of a outdoor seafood market with drink, music and dancing which goes onto 11pm and made for one of the highlights of our holiday. We believe this goes on ever night through the summer. Must have been over 600 people there, great atmosphere.
