Don Macleod is a terrific host and was always ready with advice for exploring the local area and beyond, including useful tips and thoughts for long-distance walkers like myself. I was given an ensuite twin room which was spacious and comfortable. I had a pre-arranged dinner here which was relatively simple fare but nonetheless good and ample food. Breakfast in...

We were booked in to this guesthouse on a Sunday and worried about finding dinner. However, this guest house runs a meal and snack service during the day and takes bookings for dinner at night. The dinner was a limited menu but good quality and value home made and local food. The surroundings were very cramped to cope with this...

Loved this place - Don and Nita very accommodating- Don gave us a personalised guide to the island - his love of history and archaeology shining through. Love the 'communal' dining room, able to chat to other guests- a great way to get to know fellow travellers. Clean, comfortable and warm with disabled facilities. Would love to return!

This was the worst place to stay from Barra to Stornoway on our visit. First the good bits, the room was clean and only a few hundred yards from the famous stones. But this a Guest house, with NO Television and a very cluttered sitting area. The owners are more interested in their dogs and pigs than in accommodating the...

Absolutely phenomenal. Best B&B or hotel stay every. Very strongly recommended. Once in a lifetime experience for us and our kids. 1) Amazing location. Overlooking the Calanais standing stones. Honestly right across a farmer's field from the main stones. Our room window looked right on to them. 2) Unbelievably hospital owner. He showed us everything, including bringing into the house...

Just back from a 2 day stay at Leumadair Guest House where we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Everything was extremely clean with lovely bedding, room and ensuite shower room. A friendly welcome on arrival. Don and Nita were lovely hosts and were full of information to help us with our visit to the Island. We also had the fabulous...

We can't praise the owners of this guest house highly enough. The accommodation and food were superb. The host was extremely helpful with local knowledge and the loan of maps and information. He was also very generous with his time showing members of our party the hawks and animals. The guest house is ideally situated for touring. The host has...

The owners went above and beyond to be helpful (including producing plasters for scraped heels). Lovely breakfast with fresh soft fruit and lots of nice extras like Teapigs tea. It's very close to the Callanish Stones (you could see them from our room) and also to the broch at Carloway and the Arnol Black House. Lewis and Harris aren't that...

We enjoyed our stay here and the B&B met our needs well. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast offered a variety of local produce. We enjoyed the shared table and breakfast chatter. It has a good position for exploring Lewis and being close to the Callinish standing stones. There's a fee extras here too that we appreciated...
