I loved everything about this place. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had a pretty view. The bathroom had a window that opened. Easy drive to many hiking places. Wonderful food. My husband and I can't wait to go back.

This beautifully restored inn, nestled in the mountains, will leave you breathless and in awe. The hotel owners' and amazing team's warm hospitality and friendliness made me feel right at home. The meals were delightfully cooked with locally grown organic ingredients in a fine dining environment. The rooms were excellent and clean. A superb retreat week of yoga and adventurous hikes well spent in a wonderful environment of peace and tranquility.

We love Spanish Steps! This was our fourth yoga retreat at Hotel Fuentes de Lucia and it won’t be our last! The accommodations are comfortable and clean with spectacular views of the Quirós Valley. Judy, Juan Carlos and their staff create nutritious and delicious meals often using ingredients from their own garden. This place is a gem! The guides for our hikes are so knowledgeable and funny and go out of their way to insure our comfort and safety. To top it off, they have created a fully appointed yoga practice room that invites you to watch the sun rise over the valley during the morning classes. Thank you Judy and Juan Carlos! Thank you also to their expert hiking guides, Mario, Jen, and Lorraine. See you next year!

Although there are many retreat options listed on the website, our group--four septuagenarians--opted for a hiking retreat designed specifically for us. We were picked up in Oviedo by Mario, our hiking guide for the week, and transported to the Hotel Fuentes de Lucia in the hamlet of Faedo. There, we met Juan Carlos, who cooked two daily fantastic meals for us and regaled us with stories. For six days, Mario guided us on a variety of hiking trails that took us to centuries old villages, the seaside, through a beech forest glimmering with autumn color, on a portion of the famed Camino. The natural beauty of Asturias is stunning, with lush green valleys, tiny villages nestled on hillsides, rocky outcroppings, a backdrop of mountains. Mario not only chose trails suitable for us and mid-day restaurants that specialized in local fare, but also educated us on customs and traditions. Both he and Juan Carlos were excellent companions for our week, making our Asturian adventure one we will never forget. …

A wonderful location for a relaxing yoga retreat! The hosts were super accommodating with special local foods and vegetarian options. I woke to a gorgeous mountain view with nearby hikes and bike trails reminiscent of Yosemite Valley!

This magical rural hotel/retreat center in the mountains of Asturias has been home for my annual Yoga Retreats. Judy and Juan Carlos are the perfect hosts, taking care of every detail with loving care - from the delicious meals, the crisp white cotton sheets and the impeccable environment. My students and I are always grateful for the warm hospitality of their cozy mountain hotel, where we can relax and deepen our practice. It's also a great place for venturing out on long or casual hikes.

This hotel is located in an idyllic location one hour and a half from Oviedo. We were a group of women taking part in a yoga retreat and hiking. We were welcomed by the host Juan Carlos who prepared excellent meals for us, meat dishes as well as vegetarian. I can't say enough about how gracious the small staff was and how much I enjoyed this week in Shangi-la

I stayed at Hotel Rural Fuentes de Lucia as co-leader of an 8 Day Yoga and Hiking Retreat. As such, our stay included breakfast and dinner as well as daily guided hikes. As mentioned in many other reviews, the accommodations were outstanding and the hotel offers spectacular mountain views. But honestly, the real gift of this peaceful paradise was the gracious hospitality of our hosts and guides Juan Carlos, Mario, and Camilo. We were thoughtfully cared for from our point of arrival to our point of departure. Our knowledgable and friendly guides (Mario and Camilo) led us on daily hikes through the beautiful mountains and valleys, filling our days with stories of Asturias. Each day, Juan Carlos prepared hearty and delicious meals to fill our soul. The hotel became our home away from home and I look forward to returning to this little piece of heaven again next year!!…

I stayed at the hotel for a week as part of a hiking retreat and the views, the food, the guides, and the company were all wonderful. I got a huge blister hiking and stayed back at the hotel for the day one day and it was one of my favorite days of the trip. I can't wait to go back! I was there in July 2017, and walked the Camino with this company in 2018. They are the best.

I almost did not post this rave review about this incredible Hotel/B&B located in a unique part of Spain but I've taken pity on my fellow Northern American friends who must travel to Spain in the summer due to work and school obligations. Read on if you are not interested in enduring the heat, crowds and increasingly disgrutled locals in the cities of Spain and other European cities but would like to explore this special country! This was my second 7 day stay (in 3 years) and once again an unforgettable holiday in a magical part of Spain in a very, very special place. Summer in many parts of Europe and North America is increasingly unbearable (and,as an American raised in the South, I KNOW hot and humid) but Asturias and especially the province of Quiros, where the hotel is located, is so temperate, cool and comfortable it is hard to believe I was visiting in July! The great outdoors, including national parks,UNESCO sites & bear/animal sanctuaries, is at your doorstep and your hosts are experts at introducing them to you. And when it comes to hospitality, delicous food, drink and amenities (free WiFi, spotless rooms)- you're in for a 5 Star experience at an incredibly reasonable price! Even more special are the people you will meet at the Hotel and in Asturias-I'm already planning my next trip!…
