I knew from turning into Roxby Road this was not for me. The houses are uninspiring and Banavie was shrouded in scaffolding. The entrance hallway / passageway is narrow, dark and uninviting with doors off to the front room and the breakfast room – these are both reasonably comfortable but overly cluttered with bric-a-brac and simply ‘busy’. We had the...

Have just come back from Banavie B&B. Lovely welcoming hosts with cake and drinks on arrival. The breakfast was great. The house is close to centre of village and within easy reach of Pickering and the Moors.

Have just come back from Banavie and have to say what an excellent host, good food and lovely guest house. Will try to go back and would not have any problem highly recommending this to anyone. The location is quite central and quiet, the village itself is really picturesque and you can get to quite a few places if you...

Have stayed here on a few occasions. Always a warm welcome. Our friends had trouble with their car and Ella Bowes was so accommodating with our needs. All the beds are so comfortable, breakfast was filling and speciality teas catered for. As we left two bedrooms were filled by regular guests - this has to be a good sign. Thanks again...

If you miss the seventies- then this B and B is for you! Chintzy and full of knick knacks and many notes stuck everywhere about the things you shouldn't do. Breakfast was interesting. We were asked to help ourselves from the table. There were two of us and two yoghurts in total (strawberry or cherry). A classy touch saw a...

We stumbled across Banavie on the net and what a gem we found!!!! We arrived to a cuppa, cake and biscuits and a beautiful Yorkshire accent!!!! The rooms we up stairs and very homely and comfortable. The Single bed in the 'family' room is really too soft and sinks in the middle and the toilet bathroom is VERY snug to...

I haven't been to a B & B for ages where upon arrival, the owner (the very hospitable Mrs Bowes) offers coffee or tea with fruit cake and biscuits! We were made welcome for our entire visit in this 3 bedroomed B & B, one of which allows dogs! The room was ensuite and along with a host of toiletries,...
