We were very disappointed today. We love going for lunch here. We booked for today as it only opened up again after covid. We were so looking forward to it after it being closed for 2 years. They don't do lunch menu anymore. They now do brunch or ala carte. There wasn't much on either menu I was excited about. We ended up having club sandwiches and one of our party had a breakfast. This is not something I really wanted to have in such lovely surroundings and on a Sunday after a busy week at work. I don't think we would go back for lunch unless they reinstate the lovely lunch menu. What we did have was nice but not nearly as nice as expected. Carlos the waiter is a real asset to this business and if it wasn't for his lovely cheerful manner I think we would have probably looked for somewhere else for Sunday lunch.

As regulars at the Craigsanquhar House hotel this was our first visit for over two years due to the pandemic as the restaurant has been closed until the 1st April this year. We were all so excited that this venue was once again open and we booked up immediately for our lunch on the 3rd April. Unfortunately management have made several changes and one major change is the lunch menu. They no longer have the bar lunch menu and this has been replaced by a Brunch menu or a choice from the a la carte menu The menu has been greatly reduced with many of the old favourites no longer available i.e. fritters, fish and chips, roast beef etc and replaced with an all day breakfast, club sandwiches etc. Unfortunately I didn’t see anything I fancied on the a la carte menu so I had the all day breakfast and my friends had the club sandwich. To be fair the food was excellent but not what I’d be looking for at lunchtime. With this menu I’m not sure if I would return at lunch time. Please bring back the good old faithful bar lunch menu and perhaps add club sandwiches. Sadly on this occasion I have only awarded three stars but would willingly give a five star if you were to revert to the original menu which was always delicious Apart from my complaint above food is superb and as always excellent service from Carlos.

We had our wedding here on the 4th December 2021. Firstly Craigsanquhar is a beautiful place packed with so much to offer from the stunning mansion house to the cosy villas and lovely views, there is everything anyone could need! It is like something out of a fairytale when you come up the driveway. The staff really are what helps make Craigsanquhar extra special though. Fiona, Carlos and the whole team are so attentive, polite and all round lovely people. They went above and beyond to make our day special - even coming along with the umbrellas when it decided to rain, sleet and snow!! Everything was looked after from making sure our guests had their breakfasts delivered to also having little hampers popped in the villas too. The food was delicious - the wedding meal was wonderful. Certainly, no one left hungry!! I cannot thank Fiona and all the staff at Craigsanquhar enough for helping to make our day so special, we are sad it’s all over now but will definitely be returning to visit!! Love, The McGregors xx (Photo by Victoria Litster Photography)

From the top of this review we would like to our thanks to Fiona, Carlos and all of the staff that worked so hard on the run up to and the weekend of our wedding. They made our day so special and no query or request was too much for them. So thank you so much for all your efforts. The venue is absolutely stunning. From the house hotel itself, to the coach-house and all of the surrounding area. We were married on a cool but bright Novembers day, and the early setting sun made for some beautiful photos. Everyone kept saying how stunning the venue was, and that they'd never seen anything quite like it. We made use of the villas the night before the wedding - one for the groom and groomsmen and one for the bride and bridesmaids. The villas are extraordinary and exactly what we were wanting when we booked into the. Everything was super clean, the living room is really cosy and brilliant for having a drink and chatting round, and the beds are super comfy. We cannot wait to come back many times over the course of our marriage and remember what an amazing day/weekend we had. Love from, The Bakers

Can’t believe this much time has passed already… we got married here on the 25th of September 2021. We knew right away Craigsanquhar was the wedding venue for us as we drove up the beautiful driveway on the wedding open day back in 2019! The views are stunning and the house itself is breathtaking! So much history packed into a little corner of fife! Our first wedding day was meant to be in June 2020. Fiona has been a saint during the whole process and all the emails and tears in between. You really are a credit to craigsanquhar and I can’t thank you enough for all your help and patience! Even on the wedding day she was phoning the sax player for me to check his location! No other wedding venue would care enough. In fact all the staff we have met during the planning stages and the actual event are fantastic! I can’t go on without mentioning Carlos either. What a cool man! Very attentive and you can tell he loves what he does. Even weeks on our guests still compliment this beautiful venue and staff and how they had a fantastic time! Can’t honestly fault this venue the whole day was seamless and the food and drink was delicious! I’m so sad it happened so quickly and hope we can come back for a night away and some good food when they are fully open again. Thanks for making our wedding day truly memorable! We will never forget all your hard work! Lots of love “The Simpson’s” x

We had our wedding here on 15th October 2021, after moving the date from July and wow, I’m so glad we did. We had the most perfect day, from the weather to the staff taking care of us and all our guests on the day. Everything was flawless! I can’t recommend and thank Fiona for helping us deal with all the uncertainty during the build up to our wedding. From the night before Carlos looked after us and our family both in the hotel and lodges. The lodges are stunning! Plenty room for all of us. The rooms are just as beautiful. We got married outside on the front grass and what a set up. The grounds were just amazing, perfect for wedding pictures. The food was outstanding from our canopies, to our meal to our buffet! All our guests commented on the amazing food and loved their toasties for the buffet! The staff went above and beyond for us. I can’t thank the staff enough, from the waiters and bar staff, we didn’t have much interaction with them till the day and they were all so polite and professional. Nothing was to much trouble for them, a lot of them younger too and what a credit to the craigsanquhar they are. From Looking after our older relatives and some taking the time to sit and have a coffe and a blether with our grandparents who took a wee break from the dancing. Such a nice comfort for us. Can’t thank and recommend the craigsanquhar enough. I really hope they change their minds in the future and bring back weddings as we’d love to attend again as guests and enjoy the day again! Can’t wait to come back soon. Love Mr and Mrs Townsley

1 million percent 10/10 , the staff went above and beyond for our special day. Despite Fiona having to organise her own wedding she still made sure we were always ok with ours which we were so grateful for. Venue is unreal and so relaxed

We got married at Craigsanquhar on the 24th of July, after having to change our original date due to the pandemic. Fiona was amazing throughout all the planning, from calling us to explain things, responding very quickly to emails and arranging meetings as soon as we were allowed to do so to go over all the details. We arrived the day before and had booked a villa to stay in that night, the villas are stunning and so peaceful, making it the ideal place to have a relaxing night before the main event. The venue has exceptional views and we were lucky enough to have great weather which meant we could get married outside. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. Everything went so smoothly and all the guest have commented on how stunning the venue is and how well everything went. The canopies, meal and buffet were amazing. All staff were so helpful and just really lovely. We stayed in the bridal suite the night of the wedding which is stunning, every little detail just made it so perfect. Our day was everything we had wished for and more, the effort the staff put in on and before the day was so much more than I had ever expected.

Fiona and the team were absolutely amazing! Nothing was a problem or too much for them. The food was brilliant - delicious, hot and served promptly. The bar staff were quick and attentive but never rushed. All the team went the extra mile. Carlos was extremely helpful and very friendly. Bringing coffee down to the lodges on the wedding morning - he was a lifesaver! It's a beautiful venue with gorgeous grounds for photographs. Clearly very well maintained by a skilled gardener/ groundsman. The bedrooms were outstanding. The bridal suite and ensuite were superb. The lodges were incredible too with great outdoor spaces to socialise. Fiona was great and able to pre-empt any problems which might occur due to covid restrictions etc. She was so patient and understanding with us throughout our rearrangements due to covid. She works incredibly hard and always responded to any queries extremely promptly. Our stress levels and anxieties (both normal wedding ones and covid related) were reduced massively by her excellent professionalism. We couldn't have gone through the wedding planning and preparation process without all her amazing help and support. A very big thank you also to Katy for all she did for us pre-covid. Whilst covid rules were in place, it didn't dictate the day and was the perfect day for us. We couldn't have been happier with how our big day went and can't thank all the staff at Craigsanquhar enough for everything they did.
