Visited Ferns as part of a conference activity. The welcome by the owner (sorry, cannot remember his name) was genuine and we were made to feel at home straight away. The evening meal was great with fresh local produce... However, the outstanding part of the evening was the two man band who literally played classic oldies for well over three... More

Was treated very poorly on arrival, didn't stay to eat was overpriced for the average customer. Our table in the restaurant had a spider crawling on it when we where seated. If you wanted to use anything else it was extra $$$ !! I came as a day guest and it ridiculously overpriced, maybe its better as a guest to... More

This is a unique, relaxed, quality resort. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly owners who went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Food at the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. The natural environment, including a lovely fresh water creek for canoeing and swimming, was a special feature of the stay here.

We spent one night at Fern's, but could have stayed longer. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and let us check in early. The restaurant was booked out for Sunday lunch, and although we did not attend, we have heard great reviews. It was interesting seeing the Cyclone damage and how well they have recovered, it is still a... More

Ferns hideaway resort is a great place to stay for families, due to it being inexpensive and well managed. There is plenty of things to do such as kayaking and a good sports shed. On the weekend there is a restaurant and live entertainment. A definite place to stay for those who are looking for much to do or for... More

We just spent 2 nights camping at Ferns Hideaway Resort. Amazing place with spotlessly clean facilities. Lots of things to do including canoeing which was our favourite. Byfield is a hidden gem. 5 Rocks and 9 mile beach was amazing. Next time we will stay over a weekend to experience the Restaurant and live music. If Marto can handle a... More

The cabins are rustic and private, but well kept with everything you need to enjoy your weekend in the Byfield Forest, including a fireplace for winter and a bbq for summer. The resort has a tennis court, pool and a walking track to the creek. The hosts - Marto and Jen are lovely. The restaurant serves good quality, fresh food.... More

Have experienced the warm hospitality at ferns hideaway multiple times, this place is absolutely fantastic! Food is delicious, the entertainment is awesome and the location is beautiful. Well worth the drive! They also have log cabins which we have treated ourselves too, and they are so lovely! Felt like I was away at a retreat!

Total relaxation, the best facilities. We couldn't believe we could be so relaxed and rejuvenated after two days, so we stayed longer. It's the 'go to' place. We've done a lot of travelling and this place has a combination that puts it on the top of your list. You have to stay there to really appreciate what ferns hideaway had... More
