What a charming place this was. Not too many mod cons but if you love stately homes with wonderful doors, staircases, and oldie world charm this is a place that ticks the boxes. David and Susan Thurman are a delight. The garden is outstanding. The cooked breakfast was delicious, together with cereal of your choice, yogurt, toast, tea/coffee and orange...

We arrived to find this in beautiful, quiet surroundings. The couple running it were so helpful and charming. Yes, it's not modern (but you understand that from the name), but has everything you need, was clean and we were attended to extremely well. The bedrooms are a good size - typical of an older property - and equipped with all...

We stayed here for two nights in August for my nieces wedding. It is a rural location but close to Norwich and the ring road, so a great base if you have a car. The house itself is a gorgeous 1840s old rectory that is so homely and welcoming, we had a beautiful room with lots of windows to let...

We stayed for 3 nights here and we have never been made to feel so welcome and at home. On arrival we had tea and cake with David in the sitting room, we really enjoyed chatting with him and he made us feel so welcome. Both he and Sue gave us lots of advice on the local area (even lending...

Decent sized room and spotless . Very comfortable bed and a good quiet nights sleep. In the middle of nowhere so ate in. Food is good but basic cuisine. Breakfast not bad, Plenty of parking and very nice staff. Would stay again.

I have just spent two lovely nights in this gorgeous B&B with an old friend and we both loved it. I grew up in the area and enjoy being back in Norfolk and to discover just one more reason to keep going back is so nice. Susan & David Thurman were the most attentive hosts, I felt like I was...

Stayed one night at this B&B. Warm welcome and such a lovely couple. Lovely room and slept very well. All the comforts of home. Wonderful breakfast, very high quality, that sets you up for the day. Beautiful Victorian house with a huge garden. The village is so sweet and you feel you are deep in the countryside. The couple, David...

What a relief to once again return to The Old Rectory. This time with our daughter who remembers Mr and Mrs Thurman with such fondness. Genuinely pleased to welcome us into their home with fresh made scones, homemade jam and a pot of tea. Everything is sourced locally, a beautifully presented Aga-cooked breakfast, with their own Hens eggs. What more could...

The Old Rectory is in a very pretty rural location, and the hosts are both hospitable and welcoming. Our room was well equipped, our wet clothes and walking shoes were dried overnight, and we had home made bread with our breakfast.

We stayed 3 nights, our second visit and we were made very welcome by David and Sue who were the essence of hospitality, and most helpful with local knowledge. This makes an excellent base for visiting Norwich , the Sainsbury Centre and surrounding attractions.
