We tried to stay here in mid Dec, booked through booking.com and when we arrived in the dark (5.30pm) and snow we found no one home and had to ask a neighbour to find out the owner had gone away for 2 wks with no notice. Luckily we managed to find another guest house nearby which is when we realised...

Calling a place in the middle of nowhere might not be nice, but i mean this in a good way. Eyrarbakki is a small place, but a nice place to be. It has two restaurants and is close (10 min drive) to the place called Selfoss. Also pretty close to the beach. We stayed at Rein Guesthouse for 3 nights...

The Rein-Guesthouse in the charming village of Eyrarbakki offers the quintessential B & B experience! The home is newer and honors the architecture of the original homes of Iceland. All of the rooms are exceptionally clean and fresh. The linen is white, spotless and smells as fresh as the sea air. My husband and I slept soundly and without a...

Our first night out of Reykjavik we found our selves staying with Hlin at Rein Guesthouse. The warm greeting we received was the exact same tone we experienced the whole time. Just lovely and completely worth it. The small town of Eyrarbakki was cute and perfectly Icelandic and we enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Red House seafood restaurant. This...

I stayed 2 nights at Rein Guesthouse when nasty weather made it impossible to continue my bike trip. It was a completely relaxing sleep therapy with absolute quiet + peace, I got deep insight into Icelandic culture + history in endless conversations with the creative host Hlin, quite a caracter who made my stay like feeling at home and prepared...

We were two couples staying at Rein Guesthouse from 28th-29th May 2014. We were welcomed by the owner who in a friendly and open way showed us the house and our rooms upstairs. Small but very neat and clean rooms. Between the rooms was a little relaxing area with sofa and chairs. A big bathroom with toilet was also at...

Soffia is the perfect host at a clean, bright and characterful guesthouse. It has everything you'll need: shower & bath, comfy beds, breakfast and the all-important wi-fi. A great little B&B! Also, make sure you give Maya the dog a fuss.
