The posada was a recommendation of friends and even better than they described. We enjoyed very much the personal attention of Christina and Alejandro, the spectacular view of the Andes, the afternoon swim, the comfortable and cozy room, the river running close by, and excellent dinner and breakfast. Too bad our travel plans didn't allow us to enjoy this wonderful...

My friend and I stumbled upon this posada by accident - it has signs up all over town. Everything is on a massive scale, designed to convey luxury and good taste. The hosts are charming, and make guests feel like friends or even family. The rooms are huge, with immensely high ceilings. The views of snow-capped mountains make a fairytale...

Our brief time here was a wonderful experience. Cristina and Alejandro are warm welcoming people that will make you feel at home. The atmosphere is very relaxing, no phones, no television, the only wifi is accessed in the common room. The rooms are excellent and are capped off by views that are captivating. We wish we could have stayed longer....

We enjoyed this place tremendously. Very nice rooms, with amazing views. The owner (Alejandro) was very nice and ready to help with anything. The food we tried was excellent, and the breakfast of great quality. Truly a treat to the senses. Only few things to comment, they don't take credit cards, which is a shame with the cost and most...

Echoing most of the comments before, this truly is a special place. The views are amazing, the posada itself is a great place for lodging, the food is delicous but what makes this place truly special is the hosts. We were fortunate enough to be there while Aurelio and Claudia's son and family were visiting and the entire family was...

Very comfortable, great welcome and the best breakfast in 3 1/2 weeks in Argentina. Views of Andes were unforgettable and owners were extremely helpful. We would like to go back very soon. Plenty of amazing mountains to explore.

Barreal is a beautiful mountain town with views of the Andes and literally some of the clearest skies in the world. (That's why an internationally significant astronomical observatory is located there.) This posada offers a stunning view of the mountains and complements the natural beauty with simple, rustic but carefully-chosen furnishings, many of them antiques. The public areas, inside and...

Stayed in other locations in Barreal and this is definitely the most expensive (2-3X!) however it was worth it for the view alone. And I was surprised to find it also has the best food in Barreal (and I have tried several restaurants) for a reasonable price! The rooms are rustic but there are fine touches such as a high...

Stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon. We couldn't have been more pleased. Alejandro and Christina, the owners, could not be more welcoming. Alejandro even picked us up when our hire car broke down! Rooms - lovely and spacious. All have GREAT views out over the high Andes...simply stunning! Great with a glass of Malbec as the sun goes...

“We believe the building we stayed in, rooms #7 & #8, has the best view of the Andes. All rooms look at the same Cordillera, but some other porches may have a slightly obstructed view due to the large trees on the property. I believe the final building, rooms #9 & #10 have a similar view to our room.”
