We had a lovely 1 night stay here, the house is lovely and the breakfast was excellent. We found that nothing was too much trouble for Patricia and we loved seeing the house cats in the beautiful garden.

We found this gem after lots of searching for something romantic to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A most beautiful room - gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the Panel Room complete with roll top bath in the room, toiletries and lavender . Even the tea making facilites were complete with bone china cups and saucers...

Compton House is a well run large B&B style property, which can take you back to holidays with your grandparents. I had a very friendly welcome from Patricia, who quickly and efficiently showed me to my large, well appointed South room looking over the back gardens. There is a guest lounge, which has the best WiFi reception, and a small...

We found Compton House when looking for accomodation to visit a sick relative and stayed there on a couple of occasions. And we hardly knew of Axbridge with its King John hunting lodge and views to justify his choice. The welcome from Patricia saved our day after an everyday ordeal on the M5 and toe to tail traffic around Somerset...

If I could give 100/100 I would...5/5 just doesn't seem enough for this place! Patricia is a wonderful hostess and person! Everyone in the hospitality industry should take note of how to run a hotel and treat guests as this wonderful woman has down to a tee. I visited for business but have already booked in for a personal visit...

What a stunning location. The host was wonderful and she couldn't have been more welcoming. We had an issue with our door to our room and although it couldn't be immediately resolved we were treated fantastically and the hostess was so helpful. Also I must mention the breakfast - banquet is more appropriate! - absolutely wonderful. Thank you

Lovely comfortable room with a wonderfully eclectic mix of older style furniture and furnishings. Large unusual shower cubicle! Delightful! Patricia the owner is very attentive, and she cooked a delicious breakfast. The hotel also houses a small, excellent dress agency of very good quality pre-owned clothes called Phoenix Frocks, enthusiastically and knowledgeably run by Sharon - well worth a visit!

Found myself here by accident on a business trip when all my usual places were full but I certainly intend to go back as a couple. Lovely and interesting house set right alongside the Mendip hills and Patricia serves a good breakfast. Its hard maintaining old houses like this so you can find a few wrinkly bits if you look...
