Set on the road up to Tambourine Mountain in the hinterland of the Gold Coast, Queensland, is a paradox called the Fox and Hounds Country Inn. This country pub was ostensibly brought out to Australia from Kent in England, brick by brick, and inside the memorabilia is entirely English, down to English football scarves. Exterior was the epitome of a...

We ate here 2 years ago and had brilliant food but this time round the food was very average which is such a shame as the atmosphere is brilliant, the service is great and the English beers were flowing. Although the kitchen made a mistake with our food the waiter did very well to rectify the problem. The menu said...

Being a Brit in Australia or a Pom in Oz requires me to reconnect with the motherland if and when possible. We drove 49 kms just for the reconnection on a day off. A great drive from the Freeway up into the South East Queensland Hinterland direction Mount Tamborine. The Pub has the quintessential Red Telephone Box and old London...

Called here with my sister who was visiting from England, we had lovely food and very pleasant surroundings, the owner was most helpful and had great delight in explaining whereabouts the pub stood originally, at The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells in Kent. A LOVELY PLACE TO DINE AND SPEND SOME TIME.

Everything English. Worth a visit. Try the cider. We didn't eat there but the menu looked good. Lots of parking and an outside area with an open fire for when it gets cold. They hold medieval banquets there on certain days

Had lunch here with friends on a recent Saturday. The atmosphere is convivial and the service very good. A reasonable range of beers. The food was quite good with one exception - the Toad in the hole. The peas were not mushy and the pastry was the consistency of rubber. Get one of the other menu options. The other negative...

Mother in law visiting from overseas so decided to treat her to a little taste from home. They offered a Yorkshire pudding filled with veggies( never seen pumpkin on a English Sunday roast before) the Yorkshire pudding obviously didn't rise in the oven and instead of being light and fluffy was stodgy and hard. The mash and meat were ok,...

This was not my first visit here. I came many years ago when the original owner/builder ran it. It was excellent then and, fortunately, still is. The menu is varied, obviously the accent on English fare. There is a wide variety of English beers as well, and a good choice of wines. The food was of good quality. Perhaps there...

We visited the Fox & Hounds at Lunch time and decided to order Lunch , We were shown to a table for 2 and perused the Menu. I decided on the Cod & Chips . My Wife was undecided but the Waiter spent some time assisting with her choice , offering to change some menu items to suit her tastes...
