The location is great because we drove from Queenstown that morning to Milford sounds. It was nice not to drive another hour to Queenstown after at least 8 hours of driving. The motel has everything you need. Our room has a jacuzzi spa so my kids (and me afterwards) had a lovely bath time after getting soaked at Milford sounds...

We chose to stay in the wee miners cottage. It was tiny bit tidy and clean, the showers were nice and hot and not metered. There was an electric jug with coffee and tea sachets. The cottage only had a double bed, how did people survive before bigger beds appeared??? But we enjoyed our experience just doing something different. Probably...

This is really a camp site. More suitable for camp cars. Rooms they give you are not suitable for renting out winter time. Their heaters are weak, and they are switching off automatically every hour. Houses have no insulation and in few minutes they cool down to outside temperature. Somebody have to stay up to switch heater all the time....

Hi Pritt, we are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Yes, our cabins are older units (miners huts) which are single glazed and some of them are not insulated. At this time of year (currently -5 temperatures) we are having a few people tell us that they are not warm enough. We are...

I have in the past stayed here many times, and loved the fact everything was always pretty much perfect. Not so, this stay sadly. :( Normally, the woman running the place which has recently changed it's name from Hectors, Annabelle, was hugely accommodating and went out of her way to please each and every customer. She would heat the room...

We booked a superior cottage, which definitely wasn't superior. The room was large, but old, tired and basic. The ensuite was very small and old. There was a door in our room that was jammed shut and it may have been the wardrobe. There was nowhere to hang clothes. The bed was the worst I've slept in for a long...

Morning Sue H, Thank you for your review and feedback, we appreciate your honesty. The owners of the Kingston Holiday Park purchased the park 8 months ago, where they (and staff) are working profusely to update the park, beds and update/replace our older cabins. We have also recently worked with booking.com to request changing the units title 'superior cottage' to...

Loved our sweet converted railway workers cabin with its verandah and a great place for drying washing under cover. Little touches like pegs to use and lots of pots and pans to use if needed. Picturesque site near the lake wakatipu and easy access to the Sounds, Queenstown and Fjord land. Ideal location for exploring and very friendly helpful staff...

We visited the Kingston Holiday Park whilst on a South Island road trip, and after a long day's drive from Milford Sound. The staff were very welcoming, brilliant facilities, and something we loved the most were the fresh herbs by the kitchen area for guests to use - such a lovely touch. We managed to get locked out of our...

Used a campervan hook up for one night and all was great! Spotless bathroom, well equipped kitchen, peaceful surroundings and friendly staff. Would recommend to campervans touring the South Island or as a stop for the nearby cycle network.

We booked Motel 10 and 11, and the rooms were good, nice and comfy beds, clean, en-suite bathroom, plus kitchenette. No problem at all, happy. Nice stay close to the great Lake. But if you book the Cottages 1 and 2 : Backpackers Nest, you get what you pay, they are cheaper, but only bunk bed with small Heater Fan...

Ended up staying here two nights instead of one. It is quiet & cute & a much better option than anywhere in Queenstown if you actually want to chill & relax. We were camping in our van, but I would love to stay in one of the wee cottages at some stage. Grassed & gravelled areas for camping/campers and a...
