    The resort is truly lovely. The view of the maya ruins is spectacular. The cottages are very nice. The meals are home made utilizing some of the fresh fruit grown on the premisis and cooked by the manager's wife.     We chose Maya Vista based on a write up in Lonely Planet and a conversation with the resort's owner, Mel, and we were completely happy with our choice.     Maya Vista is a beautiful, quiet, and secluded, family run resort with 8 rooms near San Jose Succotz. The rooms themselves are quite pleasant and comfortable, but the real draw of Maya Vista is the amazing location and the unendingly friendly and helpful people running it.     What a Great View of the Mayan Ruin Xunantunich from the restaurant's deck and most of the rooms too. The room was large and clean with a private bath. It was a good find. The host was very helpful and told us about the local attractions and how to see them and the cost of them. The food was great....
