This little pub never fails to please with its excellent good honest food and it's very well kept beers. The fish and (real) chips are the best in the area. Don't go here if you're if you like "gastro" food arranged in small blobs on a huge plate. This is proper food served with a smile.

We were here earlier this week and are taking the grandkids tomorrow. Beer is really good, you always get a taster if you want to try something different. The food is first class not a big menu but everything is top notch, love the curry and fish and chips, the steak pie looked awesome so that is tomorrow pick. The service is really good both on the bar and in the restaurant and quite often you find yourself chatting to people on the adjoining tables in praise of the fayre. The non beer drinking guy who complained about the rubbish in the car park on Christmas Day...get a life chap!

We usually frequent another local pub for lunch when we visit our relatives, but, decided to give this a try after hearing good reports. We were not disappointed. The HOME COOKED food is excellent and very reasonably priced and the portions very generous. The staff were so friendly, polite and attentive in fact we were made to feel as if we were friends rather than first timers !!! We will be back as we have decided this is now " our new eating place ". Thank you to everyone for an excellent lunch.

Visited for the first time today. Basic old fashioned food. Beautifully cooked fish chips and mushy peas and will say they were the best I've eaten in a pub/restaurant. Service was excellent, bar staff were friendly and waitress was very attentive. Would visit again and can't believe I've been back living in the area for 3 years and never tried this little gem. If you passing through westhead pop in you won't be disappointed.
