Absolutely amazing yet again, this place never fails us, the food is the best I have tasted and the service is excellent. We had a beautiful meal and it is by far our favourite place to eat, the scallops just melt in your mouth and the steak is a favourite, you won't find food this good for miles...

This short stay at the Inn was appreciated. Stayed in room 15 which is also known as the penthouse. The luxury of the room is reflected in the price (230/night B&B for 2) with all fixtures and fittings of the highest quality. Only slight niggle was the room was cold at the time of check in (4pm) Was informed the...

On the 2nd January you would not have thought that many people were dining out - but they were at The Cartford. The Inn has a warm, welcoming feel, especially so on a cold winter evening. We were shown to our table without a wait and enjoyed drinks before ordering food. The menu is fairly simple, and very locally based,...

My husband and I stayed over at the Cartford Inn for 1 night and it was fantastic. We have eaten there on a few occasions and the food has always been brilliant. This was our first stay overnight and it was not a disappointment. The penthouse room was beautiful, extremely comfortable with a fabulous bath/wet room. The meal at night...

We live in the Ribble Valley, surrounded by superb eateries so it is a while since we ventured out to Cartford. This is a serious restaurant serving top end food.A suet pudding starter of rabbit with an exemplary sauce was Michelin Star food,a cauliflower risotto infused with truffles equally incredible.I could go on,but we will be going back regularly from now on.The...

Wow! What can I say. We have dined here on several occasions but never stayed over until now. The room was simply faultless, penthouse apartment with huge double shower & roll top bath with views to die for! Beautiful bed linen & amazing attention to detail throughout. Private balcony with river view. Simply amazing! Fabulous food, locally sourced & first...

We had a lovely overnight stay this weekend. Found the hotel by googling country pubs with rooms! The rooms were lovely and all decorated differently with views over the river. We ate in the restaurant and had a very pleasant meal. We did wait ages and it appeared that our order hadn't gone through to the kitchen but the staff...

The Cartford Inn is one of those places that never fails to disappoint but yet has much praise heaped upon it. A total mystery, as food is at best ordinary and rather amateur, staff seemingly part-time and untrained and what one takes to be management superiorly indifferent to complaints or observations. Not quite the level of Faulty Towers but showing...

We stayed on a Friday night. This is obviously a very popular local pub/restaurant, arriving after a long drive - there is no reception - we had to find someone at the busy bar to check us in and help us. The room was comfortable not large( even though this was their largest double). The ensuite shower room was well...

Arrived on a Tuesday for a 2 night stay. Staff friendly and made us feel welcome. Room number 8 was excellent, clean and all the facilities were great, my only complaint was that the pillows could have been comfier. This is a destination pub and therefore needs to keep it's quality high. The restaurant was chockablock both evenings which says...
