Five friends stayed in the Big House for five nights in early May after a conference in San Jose and we loved it. First of all, the property is really IN the jungle, not near it as the few hotels along the road are, but right IN the REAL jungle with howler monkeys overhead and sloths hanging around in the...

We stayed at Congo Bongo from 5-22 thru 5-24 2012. This place is as much a piece of art, as it is a home. It was beautiful. We stayed in the Dream House that was built by Daan himself. It is so spectacular, words can not describe. The attention to details go far beyond the norm, from the hand carved...

I stayed in the Root House in Congo Bongo for 5 days and I had an incredible time! Daan, Marisol and Masai, the owner family, are amazing people, they helped me with everything (even with the the things they shouldn't:) ) and I just felt like at home there. Congo Bongo is located in the jungle so around your beach...

My husband and I spent a week (april 14-21), in the Dream House. The house looked exactly as it did in the photos on the internet. Daan and his staff right away helped us settle into our house. The open air kitchen, eating area and living room was amazing. You felt like you were right in the jungle. The kitchen...

For the price of a Best Western in North America, you can have the most amazing jungle experience at Congo Bongo. The property hosts incredible wildlife, including the infamous howling monkeys, not to mention the 3km crescent shaped private beach. If a "non cookie cutter" vacation is what you are looking for, this is it! We never saw more than...

Our family of 3 stayed at the Palm House during Semana Santa (Holy Week). It was truly a wonderful experience for my teenage son, my husband and I. Daan and family have done a great job of the placement of the homes within the jungle, creating a private space for each of the houses. The beautiful jungle landscape and the...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Congo Bongo in Novermber 2011. We rented the Big House and could not have been happier with the accomodations. The house was beautifully constructed, private and the open concept was the perfect way to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. The beach was beautiful and a short walk from the house. Although it was not...

My three friends and I stayed at Congo Bongo in mid-February and had a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Palm House, which was just large enough for the four of us. The shower and toilet/sink are separate (which is GREAT for four women) from each other and are pretty basic. The lower room has a safe, a king bed...

We recently spent four nights at Congo Bongo in Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica. Here is what is great about Congo Bongo. The location. The houses for rent are very private and the beautiful walk to the beach is easily accessible. The beach is amazing. We were there in mid-February and we had the beach to ourselves. Okay, there might...
